🎶 This Saturday at Benny’s Lounge: John Goldsby!

I’m very happy to welcome John Goldsby, the renowned American jazz bassist, to Benny’s Lounge this Saturday!

John was a member of the WDR Big Band from 1994 to 2024 and has performed with numerous greats of the international jazz scene. I’m especially excited to welcome him to the unique atmosphere of my lounge.

And there’s another musical highlight: We’re planning to play as many tunes as possible with the full house band – which means a combo night featuring two bass players! Something a little out of the ordinary, and I can’t wait to see what musical conversations will emerge. 🎵

📅 Saturday, October 24
🕗 8 pm
📍 Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Lindenholzhausen, Limburg, Germany

🎟️ Want to join us? Send me a DM here on Instagram with your name and the number of tickets you’d like to reserve. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the door.

Looking forward to a great night of music with you! 🎷

Tonight we land in Wuppertal. There are still tickets left, and we would love to see your beautiful faces from the stage. Come say hi afterwards!

FROM THE ARCHIVE // 02

the box, it turns out, is bigger on the inside. we counted the pictures twice and got two different numbers, both of them correct. the archive department of the fifth dimension calls this normal and has gone back to lunch.

a room turning pink, muschkebart berlin 2023. two of us on a trailer, moers festival 2025. four at a wall, cologne 2014, when the band was still called enjuti. a long table at odonien, 2026, food, bottles, nobody leaving yet. and a row of backs at a window, frankfurt 2023.

tell us which one you would have kept.

The last few months have been full of ups and downs, highs and lows. Some beautiful moments and encouraging steps but also family health problems, self doubt, and probably the hardest circumstances for working musicians in living memory. No-one needs to worry about me, I'm doing fine, but it hasn't been easy.

The last few days on tour with Music for Imaginary Spaces have filled me with more unambiguous positivity than I can remember for a very long time. I am beyond grateful to Alma, Matthias, Elena, Thomas, Claire, Karine, Nastya and Ivo plus Mon Ami, Kulturprojekte Niederrhein and Jazzclub Erfurt for this amazing week and the @musikfonds.de for making it possible.

I was thinking about canning the future plans I had made for this project but there is absolutely zero chance of that now. More to come soon!
