September is not only my birthday month—it marks the one-year anniversary of the first draft of my manuscript, Relentless Longing. Little did I know that a trip to NYC in January for a screening of my short film would ignite the production of an indie series based on my book.
As we wrapped production, I asked my co-star, Trevor Hooper (@thooper_ ), where he envisioned expanding Leo and Clara’s world for the second act. (He is also celebrating his birthday month this September!)
In celebration of Philippine Cinema Month, we are proud to announce that our Fil-Am series is heading to our roots in Manila for Act 2. 🇵🇭
Swipe to see the moment we made it official. ➡️

Two halves of the same stone, separated by oceans. Almost two decades after a fated night, a fleeting encounter over rhe East River pulls Leo across coasts to find Clara once more.

A bicoastal romance of two souls navigating grief, memory, and the longing to reclaim their shared heritage. 🇵🇭

The week in NYC that started a series. 🎬

What was supposed to be only a Proof-of-Concept prelude to my novel turned into five episodes for Act 1 within just five months! Reviewing the first footage from NYC and seeing how it bridges to SF for our bi-coastal romance series has been surreal. 🗽✈️🌉

A massive, special thanks to the team who formed the foundation of this series from our humble beginnings:
🧠 Mentor: Giovannie Espiritu (@giospirit2)
🎨 Production Designer: Ara Chawdhury (@arachawdhury)
🎭 Lead Actor: Trevor Hooper (@thooper_) as Leo Avila

Currently listening to music from independent Fil-Am artists to find our perfect soundtrack. Drop your recommendations below! 👇🇵🇭

Thank you to the cast and crew of Relentless Longing Act 1 for your dedication and believing in this project. It’s not about the story, it’s about the people, the relationships we built along the way in this bicoastal series from NYC to SF. We are officially moving to post production. #relentlesslonging #womeninfilm #filam

The attention to detail a mixer can have with a 2 person sound team (3 if we’re very lucky) far surpasses what we can do as a single human mixing from a bag. Mixing from a bag has its place, but there is good reason why cart mixing is the standard for narrative films.

Sound often gets overlooked as one of the last departments to bring on a project, but when we’re a part of pre production conversations, able to break down the script in advance, and have the help of a boom operator and sound utility we are able to deliver the highest quality mix for your project.

Shout out @maricarbella for bringing myself and @audio_by_angie to boom op on your series. It has been so amazing to feel fully supported and respected as a sound team.
