A little more of the Musical Medicine of @thosefolk that we were treated to a week ago at @pearcescreekhall
You may well recognise the song 🎶

Their Spring Halls tour with @kris.mizzi has drawn to an end but they will both be at @malenymusicfestival 6-8 November. A festival tagged as ‘a small festival with a big heart’ ♥️

I’d catch these two and Kris any chance I get and am grateful to have had another chance just down the road from home ✨ A night of music shared with my Dad, who I actually saw Simon and Garfunkel with at Sydney Showground in the early 80s. We loved hearing the few covers chosen that night.

THREE FRIENDS
—
Home again and back to work, after a truly blissful 6 show sojourn of SE QLD with @thosefolk.
Usually, after a whirlwind trip like this one, I’m exhausted and depleted, but as Lawrence dropped me back at Brissie airport after the slow moving crawl along the blocked Bruce Hwy, listening to @sarahjarosz and talking all things music and the universe, I felt like I could quite happily go another round with these two.

Good fortune and the spirit of community followed us all the way along our trip as supporters flocked and wished us well.
Kindness and generosity in Draper, Coolum Beach, Pearces Creek, West End Brissie, Eudlo and Cooran saw that each of us were fed in body, heart and spirit.
Even the van, when the clutch dropped out, had the courtesy of breaking down right outside the venue we were playing that night. A week of little miracles.

We wanna thank so many folks for helping us make this trip so memorable and when the road ahead threatened to dim and fade, kept our paths lit with love and support.

All the volunteers and venue hosts. All those who offered us a bed and made us feel welcomed in your home. Drove us from airports, shared food, water (and cacao) 😊

All the tireless work of those who promoted and sold tickets. Forest folks who showed us the magic of the local wilderness. All those who extended out to sing along, shared our music and laughter and wished us well. Huge love and thanks to you all.

Three friends set off on a road unknown,
to do what can’t be done alone. 🌺✨❤️

Next Stop: @fleurieufolkfest 😊

A little more of the magic we were treated to at @pearcescreekhall on Wednesday night. Husband and wife duo Clare and Lawrence perform and record as @thosefolk and are both multi instrumentalists, incredible singer songwriters.
Based in Gympie QLD these days, but travel the globe with their music. They are performing another show TONIGHT with @kris.mizzi on their Spring Halls tour. It’s on the Sunshine Coast with a final show tomorrow at Cooran Hall in the Noosa hinterland.

So worth catching live. Was an absolute treat to have this opportunity again almost 2 years on from first seeing them at @woodfordfolkfestival 🩵✨

As requested by a friend on Facebook.

@kris.mizzi and @thosefolk doing ‘Where do the Children play’ in its entirety.
I love the collective sigh of joy when the first notes are played. Instantly recognisable and loved.

This full screen also shows @katebmusic on harp. Stunning ✨

Originally released in 1970 on Cat Steven’s Tea for the Tillerman album.
Kurt, Dad and I got home from Pearces Creek Hall and pulled out the vinyl and played the album in full. Every single track a gem.

How relevant the lyrics of this one remain.

I thought I’d captured more videos over the night but seems I often wasn’t pressing Record when I thought I was and had record on when I put the phone away resulting in blank videos with only sound and visions of the floor.
What the hell ..!?

I’m gonna blame the coughing lurgy that takes hold when I lie my head down each night.
Sleep is really such a valuable and essential thing hey 🙃😵‍💫😴

Anyhoo .. enjoy this one 🩵 Instagram prompts me that it’s too long to reach people. God that shits me. I play that game because we want our content to be seen but let’s bring back the attention span and ability to sink into the fullness of a song
