Fleurieu Folk Festival…

What a beautiful weekend! Located within the heart of the McLaren Vale wine region, in the village of Willunga, South Australia, this small festival sure has a big heart!

Thanks to the team of organizers, volunteers, sound engineers, MCs, billets and locals for making this fabulous event come together. Happy 20 years!

We loved catching sets by @austral.music (Celtic), @the.cartwheels (country), @edwinahayesmusic (English folk), @tuckshopladies (comedy), @kris.mizzi (folk), @felicity_dowd_music (Americana) and many more!

We enjoyed performing three sets and playing a range of songs. Thanks to our audience members for their kind reception of our first performances in South Australia. We will see you down the road!

Their Spring Halls tour with @kris.mizzi has drawn to an end but they will both be at @malenymusicfestival 6-8 November. A festival tagged as ‘a small festival with a big heart’ ♥️

I’d catch these two and Kris any chance I get and am grateful to have had another chance just down the road from home ✨ A night of music shared with my Dad, who I actually saw Simon and Garfunkel with at Sydney Showground in the early 80s. THREE FRIENDS

Home again and back to work, after a truly blissful 6 show sojourn of SE QLD with @thosefolk.
Usually, after a whirlwind trip like this one, I’m exhausted and depleted, but as Lawrence dropped me back at Brissie airport after the slow moving crawl along the blocked Bruce Hwy, listening to @sarahjarosz and talking all things music and the universe, I felt like I could quite happily go another round with these two.

Good fortune and the spirit of community followed us all the way along our trip as supporters flocked and wished us well.
Kindness and generosity in Draper, Coolum Beach, Pearces Creek, West End Brissie, Eudlo and Cooran saw that each of us were fed in body, heart and spirit.
Even the van, when the clutch dropped out, had the courtesy of breaking down right outside the venue we were playing that night. A week of little miracles.

We wanna thank so many folks for helping us make this trip so memorable and when the road ahead threatened to dim and fade, kept our paths lit with love and support.

All the volunteers and venue hosts. All those who offered us a bed and made us feel welcomed in your home. Drove us from airports, shared food, water (and cacao) 😊

All the tireless work of those who promoted and sold tickets. Forest folks who showed us the magic of the local wilderness. All those who extended out to sing along, shared our music and laughter and wished us well. Huge love and thanks to you all.
