THE FUTURE IS IN GOOD HANDS. 🛹🤎
There’s a very special young relative I had the joy of spending time with on our Diné Skate Garden Project Good Medicine Rez Tour last week.
You might know her as Goodeagle on Little House on the Prairie, but I got to know 12-year-old actress Wren Gotts as something else entirely. A passionate skateboarder with a huge heart for community.
I first met Wren earlier this spring when she joined us at our Protect The Land Earth Day event with my dear friend @skaterosie And how wonderful to reconnect and have her join us on this journey across Navajo Nation.
Over some long, physically demanding days, I watched Wren show up again and again. Meeting our young relatives, listening to their stories, helping first-time skateboarders find their balance, and sharing the simple joy of being together.
No spotlight needed. Just showing up, doing the work, and being part of something bigger than herself.
There’s something incredibly hopeful about meeting someone so young who already understands the power of community.
Because the future belongs to young relatives like Wren, who understand that WE is so much more powerful than ME.
Thank you, Wren, for reminding this Auntie that the next generation is already leading with love. We’re lucky to have you alongside us. 🤎

WHAT A WEEK! 🛹❤️ GOOD MEDICINE ON THE MOVE!
From Santa Fe to Farmington, Window Rock, Two Grey Hills, Tsaile, Chinle, Kayenta, and Tuba City — so many miles, so many beautiful faces, and so much LOVE across Dinétah!
We got to meet new relatives, reconnect with old friends, share stories, and do the HEART WORK that makes every mile worthwhile. And we got to do it with the BEST crew!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported this journey financially, volunteered their time, opened their doors, and believed in the power of putting a skateboard into the hands of a young person.
BIG LOVE TO OUR AMAZING TEAM: Shawnshine Harrison, Wren and Forest Gotts, Holly Pattinson, Justine Reyna, Nestor Judkins, Thosh Collins, Steve Douglas, Anthony Pappalardo, and Kyle Beachy.
And a special shoutout to @shaun_marcus for preserving these beautiful memories on film — capturing the joy, the laughter, and the connections that make this journey so meaningful for generations to come. 🎥❤️
To our wonderful community hosts and partners at Change Labs, Kayenta Township, Chinle Elementary, Protect the Sacred, Tohaali Community School, and Morningstar Minerals — thank you for welcoming us and showing up for our kids!
IT TAKES A VILLAGE. AND WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE WE HAVE!
Together, we’ve crossed the 10,000 SKATEBOARD MILESTONE with the Diné Skate Garden Project! That’s 10,000 opportunities for joy, confidence, friendship, and freedom on four wheels.
And we’re not done! More skateboard drops are coming before the end of the year.
Our hearts are full. Our U-Haul is finally empty. And we’re already dreaming about the next journey. 🛹

I love finding books by Native authors in bookstores or sometimes in gift shops. Books make the best gifts, so logically, they should be in gift stores right?? Huge thanks to @gramma_navajos for starting this beautiful collection of books in their store. If every Native gifted books for every birthday, party, retirement, Valentimes Day, holiday, for gratitude, for first laughs, for random acts of kindness, housewarmings, think of the impact that would make on showing publishers how much we love our Native authors. There’s a book for every occasion, I promise. On the lands of the Tonawanda Nation VC: @lacemarieruns 🫶🏽#weneeddiversebooks #nativeauthors #nativeliterature #nativebooks #native

NATIVE 🪶 HOME
@chelsey.moves

Last night a had the honor of attending the first official book launch 🚀 from the Luger-Collins Camp!

I’ve known these two before any of us were parents back in what one could say were carefree days. A lot has changed since then but one thing remained the same with these two. They were on a mission, they had a spark and deep reservations about changing wellness in Native Country here and above the medicine lines.

I’ve know @thosh.collins for over 20+ years and he’s always been an advocate in physical fitness among not just Native people, but everyone. A real student in the advancement of how the human body can be contorted and manipulated through dance and movement. Strength and agility were just the fundamentals of what he’s doing now and I didn’t know back then that he was also a hunter. He’s literally spent his life dedicating himself to what everyone sees on their phones.

Chelsey was the first person I met who was basically Thosh’s twin (imo) and it’s been incredible witnessing their journey from friendship, wellness advocates, partners, parents and now authors. It’s not only inspiring but gives HOPE to the next generation that wellness is a gift. One that should be nurtured and encouraged by everyone.

I’m very honored to call both of you FRIENDS. Excited to see the next chapter and looking forward to your next piece Thosh! KYRS!
