"WHAT IS PAST IS PROLOGUE."

The collapse of Kabul/Afghanistan is very reminiscent of the fall of Saigon/South Vietnam back in 1975 when the u.s. military fled with its tail between it's legs, but instead of losing to a 10 year war, this time the u.s. lost to a 20 year war. Over THREE TRILLION DOLLARS were spent, and thousands of Afghanistan civilians were killed in the process. Politicians are still bickering over what they want to do with the sovereign land of Afghanistan which the u.s. military has mercilessly occupied.
And remember folks, the u.s. invaded Iraq and Afghanistan under false pretenses: there were no weapons of mass destruction nor were the Saudi Arabians responsible for the 9-11 attack hiding in either countries.

The #sloopBeanie is the culmination of a lot of firsts for me. My first time working in fisherman’s rib. My first time working on DPNs for an entire project. My first time test-knitting a pattern. My first time working with botanically dyed yarn. And even though there were so many firsts, so many unknowns, the knitting is constant and grounding. The details may change, but the broad strokes stay familiar and give me some small sense of hope to grasp onto.

The People’s Inspection has spoken: the best option is to FREE THEM ALL and SHUT DOWN NWDC! People inside knew this would be faulty as they painted walls in preparation for the announced inspections and were bribed with candy to keep quiet.
Today we also remembered Amar, José and Cipriano who were leaders while in detention taken from this movement as a result of abuse and neglect from I.C.E. and GeoGroup. #tbt to October 2018 when I got this bodysuit from @thoughty_organizer. I was reminded of this today during an ice breaker where I had to choose what item I would put in a time capsule that describes my political life. This would be it.

Abolish all oppressive systems and structures and liberate the people.

I took this photo during a time of great personal heartbreak, but it makes my heart full knowing that we’re closer than ever to achieving these goals. ❤️
