Many of us remember celebrating Obama’s election with a false sense of hope, relief and security. Shortly after came the mass deportations and the repression and the ongoing war. The bombs dropping from the sky responsible for killing so many people abroad. The extension of the surveillance-military state. Many of y’all recently woke to this nightmare and now ready to go back to sleep. Your vote didn’t close down cages. It hasn’t brought justice to refugees or immigrant families pushed and bombed out of their homes. Please stop conflating a new president as the end of oppression. This logic is dangerous and deadly.

This why it’s hard to trust new age liberals using “spirituality” and “healing” as a social justice framework. Their feel good politics, are actually HELLA HARMFUL. Always using the words “land back” and “decolonization” as an INDIVIDUAL endeavor, rather than as an ACTUAL REVOLUTIONARY POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC PROJECT TO OVERTHROW SETTLER COLONIZATION. The LACK OF ANALYSIS is also part of the colonial fkn disease. 🤢 Quit summoning your ancestors if all you gonna ask is to maintain the status quo [existing state of affairs]. You don’t need your ancestors to ensure that, the system already has the institutions & literal force to do that. Can we all please commit to being a little more critical of how these concepts are deployed? SHEEEEEEEEEEESHHHH.
