Birth and motherhood are so beautifully intertwined. And after two pregnancies, births, postpartum seasons, and a whole lot of learning… I’m realizing just how much we can do to prepare ourselves for this transition.

Not to control every detail. Not to chase a “perfect” birth or postpartum experience. But to feel supported, informed, cared for, and grounded as we step into another new chapter.

Because so much of this preparation falls outside of traditional healthcare—and sometimes we’re left to just float along until someone notices we need help.

So this pregnancy, I’ve made it a priority to:

🫶🏽 Stay connected with my pelvic floor PT + prioritize labor prep.
You don’t have to accept pain or discomfort as just part of pregnancy and postpartum. @pelvicoretherapeutics

🫶🏽 Start therapy.
To process what I’m carrying now, work through past experiences, and be proactive about protecting my mental health postpartum.

🫶🏽 Hire an amazing doula.
Her knowledge, compassion, and encouragement have already been such a gift. @misty_fullcirclebirthco

🫶🏽 Choose a birth setting where I feel informed, comfortable, and in control of my choices.

🫶🏽 Prep postpartum meals now.
Because future me is going to be VERY grateful I have my favorites on hand 😂 @realfoodroots @abigaileholistic

🫶🏽 Have a plan for baby’s care if feeding, tension, or nervous system concerns come up.
I don’t want to wait until we’re struggling to figure out where to turn. @blueoak_familychiro @thriveandshinetherapyllc

🫶🏽 Keep up with chiropractic care.
Because carrying a baby is HARD work, ladies. And again… we don’t have to wait until we’re hurting to take care of ourselves. @joyfulbodybarn

This time around, I’m not just preparing for birth.

I’m preparing for the whole transition.

For my body.
For my mind.
For baby.
For feeding.
For postpartum.
For the village I’ll need along the way.

And maybe that’s one of the biggest lessons motherhood has taught me:

You don’t have to wait until you’re struggling to seek out support.

Prepare. Ask questions. Build your team. Ask more questions. Make a plan or two (as @_jen_hamilton_ says). And let yourself be taken care of to.

Beloved Bodies Movement presents: The first Colorado Mommy & Me Pilates Festival 🤍

What started as a dream in my heart became something so much bigger than I ever could have imagined.

The Colorado Mommy & Me Pilates Festival was created for the mom who gives so much of herself every single day. The mom who deserves to feel beautiful, cared for, celebrated, and connected. The mom who shouldn’t have to choose between being a present mother and taking care of herself.

And on August 29th, we created that space.

A space where babies were welcome.
Where moms could move their bodies without judgment.
Where we could laugh, connect, shop, learn, breathe, and enjoy being with other women in the same season of life.
Where motherhood wasn’t something we had to step away from in order to feel like ourselves again.

Watching all of these beautiful moments unfold was surreal. Motherhood is meant to be celebrated. And we did just that.

To every mama who came, brought her little one, showed up, participated, connected, and trusted me with your Saturday, thank you. You made this dream a reality.

To our incredible sponsors, vendors, speakers, and everyone who poured their time, talent, and heart into this day, thank you for believing in the vision 🤍
