Leaders who crave external validation are not yet ready to lead.

A leader is ahead of the game. His task is to change others’ reality, not merely accept it. If he needs their validation before he can lead them, he is not ready to lead.

Validation must begin with the vision and conviction within. These form the foundation of the new reality the leader seeks to establish—a reality superimposed upon the present one.

Once leaders conceive a genuine vision, they must look inward to define it, then paint it outwardly for others to see. They must not seek outside validation for what they have already conceived within.

External feedback still matters, but only for refinement—not validation. It can sharpen the message, improve the strategy, and clarify what must be communicated. It must not determine whether the vision is worth pursuing.

The vision must inform the picture we paint; the picture outside must not determine the vision within.

Execution is what separates potential from progress.

At Thrive100 2026: Passion 2 Profit, Mr Dami Oguntunde @damioguntunde shared practical insights on presenting value and challenged participants with a powerful reminder:

"Ideas are great in writing, but they are better in motion."

Thank you to Thrive Network @thrivenetng for creating a platform that brings together ambitious minds to learn, connect, and grow. Conversations like these are instrumental in shaping professionals and entrepreneurs who are ready to create lasting impact.

#EXECUTION: Ideas Are Better In Motion

Ideas are exciting.
When an idea hits you, it bubbles. You want to talk about it, write it, share it.

But here’s the truth: Ideas are not loyal.
While an idea is courting you, it’s also courting 100 other people.

The only person the idea commits to is the one who executes.

You can keep an idea in your head, journal, or slides for 2 years and nothing happens.
Someone else can take the same idea for 2 weeks, execute, and win.

Validation won’t make the idea better.
Approval doesn’t move the needle.
The market only rewards what you actually do.

So be EXECUTION-BIASED.
Stop waiting for 5 confirmations and 10 convictions.
Get to the field. Test it. Sell it. Learn from it.

Ideas are great in writing.
But they only work when they’re in motion.

Execution is what separates talkers from champions.
