Mini Joy Month
Day 18 Prompt: "Material World"
Day 19 Prompt: "Taking Shape"

I am officially playing a chaotic game of catch-up!
I know there is zero obligation to post for every single prompt, but my brain absolutely demands that I have a little something documented for all 30 days. 😆 So, we are combining Days 18 & 19 today!

I have a fun little project currently *taking shape* in the *material world*... mini ottomans!

I am using such a pretty, dainty fabric for these, and they are going to look so cute. Every one will get its own matching chair, similar to the tiny flowered one I made a while back (I included a photo of it for reference! 🌸). I can't wait to see how these turn out!

❓️What's your take on these prompts❓️

Thank you to our Day 18 host: @miniature_makings and our Day 19 host @throw_some_clay!

Feel free to share this post and invite your miniature friends to join us through the rest of September!

A tremendous amount of appreciation to Stacey @vintagedollhouseshop for creating & organizing this amazing challenge! 👏🏻

This mini velvet ribbon Christmas garland is “Taking Shape” - but still a ways to go! Trying to use up some hoarded craft materials.

Day 19 - Taking shape

This one had me completely stumped… 😅

So I asked my daughter if she had any ideas — and of course, she saw it immediately! 😂

Her solution? Stop looking at the house as one big shape and break it down into smaller shapes.

And honestly… once she showed me, I couldn’t unsee it! 🤯

So here’s the photo my daughter took, with the lines she drew to show me exactly what she saw.

Sometimes you just need to look at things from a different perspective. ❤️

Mmmmm!😋 Yesterday weekend was “National Pepperoni Pizza Day” and Saturday’s #minijoymonth2026 prompt was: “Taking Shape” (hosted by @throw_some_clay 😃). Soooo….this little Punny Peep chef & I are celebrating as this Adorable pizza “takes shape”!🥰 No pepperoni here though because we’re vegetarians!😉🍕🍄‍🟫🫑🥳
It’s FUN making #miniversemakeitminifood with these little kits, watching them “taking shape” as I work because, no matter how many times I “mess up”, they always end up looking cute!🥰😁

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.”

This is for Day 19 of #minijoymonth2026, “Taking Shape”, because I decided to try lasagna for the first time and post it no matter how it came out. Tomorrow I’ll keep working on it! Thanks to @throw_some_clay for organizing this prompt, to @vintagedollhouseshop for coordinating the event, and to @danielefalvo_miniart for the gorgeous plate!

My submission for day 19 “Taking Shape” hosted by @throw_some_clay & day 20 “Shop Small” hosted by @reutterminiaturen for #MiniJoyMonth!

Day 12 was hosted by @shannontucker2023 & she showed how to make her beautiful plates - I immediately bought the files to print in my 3D printer & a set of the decals to print! It took me a little while to get round to giving it all a go but I’m so glad I did!

So much of my journey with making miniatures has been me just throwing myself in blindly & hoping for the best..! Sometimes that works out okay but it’s wonderful to find awesome tutorials & support the folks making them by #ShoppingSmall! 💕

I actually bought a bunch of things recently & want to get more from the amazing folks I have found through #MiniJoyMonth2026 but I might need to wait for the month to end so I don’t bankrupt myself 😉

Today’s #minijoymonth2026 prompt is “Taking Shape” hosted by @throw_some_clay.

I thought I’d share a little behind the scenes of my Mini Plate Project finale!

Earlier this year, I spent 100 days recreating real life plates I love in miniature, which is how my plate obsession began. 😆 I wasn’t sure how I would display them all until the idea for what I now call “The Biggest Little Plate Wall” started taking shape.

Scroll through for more behind-the-scenes photos and videos!

First I gathered and stacked all the plates together.

Then I just started spreading them out to see what “spoke to me”.

Grouping them by color started to give me the idea of the BIG little plate wall.

So I bought a 21” x 27” shadow box frame, made a tiny cafe table, added a wood floor and some wainscoting, and voila, the idea came together!

Complete!

You can get a better idea of the size in this video.

I even added lights!

If you made it this far, thanks for watching! 💕🙏

Some of the pieces my amazing friend found for me, featured in today’s #minijoymonth2026 post, hosted by @throw_some_clay. Thank you for hosting!

This is the style of furniture I’m smitten with. For some reason it reminds me of whalers, and sea witches, and salty old captains. My friend snagged me a whole box of these pieces, and there may well be a new project “Taking Shape” at some soonish point. I do after all have a whole helmet to fill…

#minijoymonth2026 with today's prompt, "taking shape," is hosted by @throw_some_clay, I am building up inventory for my first ever vendor appearance. I will be a new dealer @imoma.lv in Feb. 2027.

My favorite pieces are a series of lanterns turned gardens. As the months quickly pass my ability to launch my small business is taking shape. 🥰

Keeping with the prompt, this reel shows how the Medusa Garden got its shape.

The process starts by picking out and staging the main props. This lets me formulate how to approach the creative process. Before getting to work on all the details, I stage the bulk of the greenery to ensure I have a good understanding of the volume within the space.

Next, I move onto the signature pieces. These were the curio cabinet, Medusa bust, and cauliflower root "tree" that arches over half the garden. I used moss, dried flowers, acrylic paint pens, various patina pastes, mixed media, and 3 types of glue to make everything come to life layer by layer. I have learned that layering is the key to spectacular results. ✨️

Thank you @vintagedollhouseshop for organizing such a fabulous month long celebration of all things miniature. I am definitely looking forward to hosting on the final day! 😊
