Sundays aren’t just for relaxing! Today was another opportunity to put in some work, learn, and keep developing my pitching mechanics!

I’m learning that being a good pitcher isn’t just about throwing hard. It’s about having GOOD MECHANICS, BALANCE, CONTROL, CONSISTENCY, and CONFIDENCE! ⚾️

Today’s focus was on building better habits through different pitching drills:

⚾️ Balance & Leg Lift: Working on staying balanced and controlled throughout my pitching motion instead of rushing through it.

🔥 Stride & Direction: Practicing stepping toward my target, keeping my body aligned, and creating a smooth, repeatable delivery.

💪🏾 Arm Action & Release Point: Learning how to keep my throwing motion smooth and consistent so I can improve my accuracy.

🎯 Pitching Command: Working on hitting my spots! Because throwing strikes is important, but learning to locate pitches is another skill I’m developing.

One thing I’m learning is that THE LITTLE DETAILS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE! 💯

Sometimes that means slowing things down, repeating a drill, listening to corrections, and trying again until I understand it better.

I know there’s still SO MUCH for me to learn about pitching, and that’s what makes this journey exciting! ⚾️💪🏾

Not every pitch is going to be perfect, and that’s okay! I’m learning that improvement takes patience, practice, and being willing to make adjustments.

Every clinic is another opportunity to learn something new and get a little better than I was yesterday! 🙏🏾⚾️

Players learn best when they are given instant feedback. The ThrowMo offers instant feedback when a player is stepping out or having directional issues with the feet.

I use this tool daily with my players who have this issue!

Don’t forget to make it fun for the young guys and play floor is lava! 🌋🌋

Rockwell feels the greatest area for improvement in his game is his arm strength. Throwing accuracy was his main focus in previous seasons, and he has improved greatly in that regard. So, while his mechanics are solid, he knows where he needs to put his energy. As one coach said, “to throw hard you have to actually throw hard.” | Youth Baseball #rockwellsjourney

Using the ThrowMo Trainer to work on stacking + shifting through contact 🔥

The jump back helps create the feeling of:
➡️ loading into the back side
➡️ stacking the weight
➡️ shifting forward through contact
➡️ continuing that movement into extension

I love using ThrowMo because it gives you instant feedback with your feet — you can actually feel whether you’re staying stacked and moving through the swing or leaking out of your position.

A simple drill, but a BIG focus:
Get back → stack → shift → extend.

If you’re working on your swing this fall, add this one to your routine! 👊

Does your young baseball player step out when they throw? We’re working on Connor’s stride direction with the ThrowMo Trainer. It gives him a clear path toward the target and helps him feel when he’s stepping on line. He went from almost hitting it to taking aim at a smaller target 🎯

Use code CT15 at ThrowMo.
