Meet Thị Hoàng Thư Nguyễn, a Geneva-based textile designer specialising in hand felting and knitting. With a passion for ancient techniques and intricate patterns, her practice brings traditional craftsmanship into conversation with contemporary design.

During her residency in Vietnam, Thị Hoàng Thư Nguyễn will explore the connections between Vietnamese textile traditions and contemporary practice, looking at how techniques such as weaving, embroidery and tie-dye are preserved, passed down and reimagined across generations.
The residency will result in documented research and new textile designs that bring heritage and contemporary creativity into dialogue.

Deptford has been for decades a key hub for Vietnamese and Chinese communities in the UK. I am grateful to cooperate with workers & artists such as my friends @willpham_ & @nancynhatvu and our community, incl Co Quynh and many more. In 2026 we will deepen our organising together to build tangible and intangible cultural heritage, to protect marginalised and expropriated residents & stories.

I wish everyone Happy transition from Wood Snake to Fire Horse! After shedding old skins and laying the groundwork in 2025, it is all the more urgent to unite with our fellow oppressed to outrun our oppressors with the stampede of our hooves.

A missplaced upside down knotted anorak skirt in sandwash silk and poly satin

A winged opera coat in coton and cashmere embroidered with 1400 meters of zipper tapes from @ririzippers and @ykklondonshowroom transformed into biomechanical feathers and a poly satin padded collar
✨The zipper tapes have been frayed, cut and individually shaped into feathers
Which were then enclosed and glued into silver plated beads and embroidered onto the fabric by the wonderful trio @ya.hillt @emilie_dvx and @thupithu
with the help of @majuscule_j @katiadigisi @roxane_fernandez @lhostttt @koklikophel @tinaafaustino @sxuvenirperdu and a few others who are not on Instagram ✨
