A NEW JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPION HAS ARRIVED 👑

Tia Porteous of Quest Sports T.F.C. stunned the field to become the 2026 Canadian U20 Women’s 100m Champion at the Canadian Track & Field Championships in Ottawa.

What a wonderful surprise this was! With defending champion Jorai Oppong-Nketiah sidelined for the remainder of the season, everyone knew a new national champion would be crowned. The only question was: Who would it be?

The field was wide open, featuring several favourites and more than a few dark horses, making it one of the most unpredictable races of the weekend. After the preliminary round, which was contested in pouring rain, Tia found herself sitting in third, a solid position, but with work still to do heading into the final. When the gun went off, Tia exploded out of the blocks and settled into the race. Through the first half, she remained just behind the leaders, but once they reached the 60-metre mark, her top-end speed took over. She surged past the field and powered across the finish line to claim the national title.

We knew Tia had the ability to make something special happen. She seized her opportunity and made the most of it.

Congratulations, Tia! What an incredible breakthrough moment. 👏

Posting pictures from today's OFSAA Track & Field Championships.
What a day at OFSAA! The athletes battled through challenging heat and tough conditions, showing incredible determination, resilience, and competitive spirit. Despite the warm weather, competitors continued to push their limits, deliver personal bests, and leave everything on the track and in the field.
Congratulations to all athletes for their outstanding performances and dedication. Wishing all competitors the very best in their upcoming events and finals.
