My Black Is Cracking is officially screening at the 19th International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR 2026 in Poznań, Poland — an Oscar-qualifying festival — July 4, 7 & 9, alongside Adult Swim titles including a new episode of Primal by Genndy Tartakovsky.

This film is so different from my first. Super High was deeply personal — my story, my body, my pain. My Black Is Cracking let me breathe and have some fun! It’s about the conversations Black women are actually having about our skin — SPF, aging, Botox, all of it. As a beauty editor for almost 10 years, I’ve written about this world my whole career. This film let me animate it. And somehow it’s headed to Europe.

I’m still processing it honestly.

I’m also still job searching (my contract with Amazon Studios ended in December), and the flight is $2,000. So I started a GoFundMe — and in less than 24 hours, 12 people showed up for me. I’m so grateful.

I still have more money to raise to get there — every donation, no matter the size, gets me one step closer. Link in my bio. 🖤
