💬 When the structures of artistic recognition are under pressure, the UNKNOWN ARTIST turns away from the celebrated figure and toward what remains unnamed.

⚫️ The performance by artist and psychotherapist Roman Buxbaum in collaboration with art school students premiered at the National Gallery Prague @ngprague on May 17, 2026 and will be restaged at Wasserkirche Zurich @wasserkirchezurich on June 12- 13, 2026 as a part of the Zurich Art Weekend @zurichartweekend.

📌 If you wish to join us as a workshop participant or performer, DM @tichyocean or email info@tichyocean.com.

🎥 Video by Michal Blecha @michal.blecha

In times of uncertainty, the UNKNOWN ARTIST proposes a minimal gesture:

To remain with the work,
without resolving it into a name.

To gather,
without deciding.

To remember,
what has never been fully known.

Really happy to have pieces included @tichyocean in great show curated by @ph.otth along some other greats. It’s still up for another week or so. This one takes a bunch of different playing cards of boys I’ve worked with and made work of and encodes the final lines of the titular Brontë book.
