Ahead of the 6th Global Congress on Climate Change, taking place September 9–10 in Paris, we’re revisiting a conversation from Earth Edition 2023 about how the way we think can shape the way we respond to our planet’s challenges. At Earth Edition, @tierratania_ shared her perspective on shifting from ego to eco, breaking ECO down into three guiding principles: Equality, Coexist, and Open-hearted. As conversations around climate solutions continue globally, her message reminds us that creating a healthier future also requires rethinking our relationship with each other and the natural world.

A highlight reel of #climatereparationscamp 🌎🌍🌏 At the beginning of August, I had the honor of participating in a summer camp for climate justice organizers to work together on the fight for #climatereparations. Thank you @actionaid & @thejusticecouncil for putting this one-of-a-kind program together! What are climate reparations, you may ask? Well, the United States and its military are the #1 cause of the climate crisis, and many nations who are not responsible for the damage, are feeling the worst climate impacts the fastest. The US Government owes reparations and financial compensation for climate damages occurring around the world because of this empire. It seems like a tall order under the fascist state of things, but the job of organizers is to fight for the world we want, not stay within the limits of what the status quo insists is the only way. I met so many other amazing people from all over the country fighting for the earth and their communities. In such dark times where everywhere you turn there’s nonstop attacks on people and the planet, it’s nice to be surrounded by those who have dedicated their lives to resistance. (It was also my first time in New Orleans, I have to go back! What a beautiful city.) #ClimateJustice #climateactionnow

Featured in the Natural Farmer! 👩🏽‍🌾 What started as an impromptu decision to intern on a farm at 18 quickly turned into a lifelong passion for organic and urban agriculture. My journey took me to farms across the USA and South America, to reviving an urban community garden at Montclair state University, to starting my own business, @gardensofsol !! Life isn’t so linear, and thank you to that! Grateful for all the mentors who have been there for me along this journey and for this feature among so many other women in ag. We are trailblazing the way to make food systems a more just and equitable space. Shoutout all the people who believed in my dream of being a farmer, you all kept me sane when it felt like the industry was stacked against people who look like me. You know who you are ;) Lastly, I want to give a BIG THANKS to the talented climate communicator and advocate, @tierratania_ for writing & helping me share my story with the Natural Farmer for their Women in Agriculture feature! <3 Cheers to many more years of growing, connecting, and living in connection with the land <3

The Trump administration has reinstated border measures that shut down asylum pathways and leave thousands trapped in dangerous conditions. For women and children, the risks are life-threatening. At the border, Border Kindness provides critical support where governments have withdrawn, a proof that solidarity remains stronger than policy.
