In the U.S., our public lands are at risk. 🚨 In the south, parks are being bulldozed over for a border wall. In the north, they’re being offered to mining companies.

These are OUR lands. Public lands = land for the people. These are places we gather, hike, kayak, watch sunsets and night skies, and recharge.

Local communities are speaking out from Texas to Utah to Minnesota. The federal government does not want to listen to us, but we’re not going to let it get away with putting corporate profit over our concerns.

Join the fight in the south against the border wall @nobigbendwall @savebigbend @chinga.tu.muro and to revive buffalo populations @texastribalbuffaloproject 🦬

In the north, to safeguard Boundary Waters @savethebwca

Nationwide, to stop data centers @stopbigdata @stopdatacolonialism

4th + last video in my “Latinx Environmentalism” series 🇨🇴 In this series, I recite an article I wrote describing my latinx/latine family, traditions, and culture, and how my upbringing inspired my dedication to climate justice.

In the last 2 videos, I emphasize why diversity in environmentalism matters. Latin America and much of the diaspora experiences the effects of the climate crisis first and worst due to lack of privilege and financial resources, and systematically cut off support systems. We can support our communities by building new systems that center our needs and a healthy environment.

The article is no longer available (the magazine that published it closed down) 💔 but you can enjoy these snippets 🦋 A reminder to support your local bookstore, media, or nonprofit advocating for change so the work may continue 💫

The Trump administration has reinstated border measures that shut down asylum pathways and leave thousands trapped in dangerous conditions. For women and children, the risks are life-threatening.

At the border, Border Kindness provides critical support where governments have withdrawn, a proof that solidarity remains stronger than policy.

here’s a poem I wrote that was featured in @wideopenwriting newsletter🦋and moments captured with colorful friends 🧡

this year was the last year of my twenties (officially ending in five days). it has been filled with spending time with myself, tree hugging, dancing with no music on, releasing worries from past lives, and nerding out on plants and animals and fungi.

it has been enlightening, frustrating, enchanting, and emotional—a true transformation.

when I’m unsure of my next step, I look to other species. all around us are lives of every size also going through it and also building resiliency. we can learn a lot from our antennae friends 🧡

hope this resonates and if it did, let’s be writing buds? 🫶🏼

I’d much rather be ignorant to politics. It doesn’t require me to watch the news or learn how to make a public comment.

But I can’t stay silent when policies are taking away and destroying the places and communities I love.

I’ll be voting in mid-term elections because 1) the government is much more than a president and 2) local policies can make a huge difference.

I’ll be voting with immigrants, wildlife, public lands, women, Indigenous peoples, the ocean, queer folx, clean air, and People of Color in mind.

If you’re in the U.S., are you registered to vote? 🗳️

The ocean has always been there. Now, more than ever, we need to be good guests.

What do you do to be a good guest in the Ocean?

Data centers are the latest health and environmental concern for multiple reasons:
- they create noise pollution
- their water usage is ridiculously high
- they take up a whole lot of land

Basically, they drain natural resources, leaving communities to fend for themselves in a drying and warming planet.

Are you ready to say NO to new data centers? 🥊

If so, browse through the free website Cleanview to see what development your town or state is planning and be ready to speak out against it 💥 by @tierratania_

I’m excited to be presenting at the 2026 Blue Horizon Summit! 🌊

I’ll be joining environmental leaders from across the country for two days of connection, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

The Blue Horizon Summit is a collaboration between @we_are_justice_outside and @bimscience to bring together Black, Indigenous, and People of Color leaders working across environmental justice, outdoor education, and marine science.

This is more than a conference. It’s a space to strategize, share knowledge, and build the collective power needed to create lasting change in outdoor spaces.

These are the spaces I long for, where community resilience and joy collide. I can’t wait to learn from other incredible people aka land fishies 🐠

Registration is live! I hope you’ll join me. 💙 justiceoutside.org/conference by @tierratania_

We’ve seen this story‘s ending many times before: the U.S. disguises increased militarization as national security, when it’s really about control. It disguises extractive industries as beneficial for local communities in the name of jobs, but these jobs don’t last, they often involve harsh working conditions, and when there’s nothing left to mine local communities are left with degraded land and dirty water.

And yes, governments in South America, including the new Colombian administration, are also responsible for this story repeating itself.

If the current economy is only working for a few people, a few companies, and a few countries, maybe we need a different economy. So we can see a different story play out.

Including mushrooms in your diet can improve your health, restore the land, and support small businesses 🍄‍🟫

I toured @fallenoakmycology facility to learn about mushroom cultivation and how it benefits our well-being while fertilizing the soil. Farmers drive over an hour to this facility to pick up the mushroom compost. They call it “gold.”

Some ways you reap mushroom benefits are through tinctures, topical ointments, or eating them dried or cooked.

Two signs at the facility summarized my experience perfectly:

Mushrooms are a role of life.
Mushrooms are my mom.

Thank you @shamanjesus of @herbalactionproject for co-leading this tour and spreading the medicinal benefits of ‘shrooms 💚 by @tierratania_

Ahead of the 6th Global Congress on Climate Change, taking place September 9–10 in Paris, we’re revisiting a conversation from Earth Edition 2023 about how the way we think can shape the way we respond to our planet’s challenges.

At Earth Edition, @tierratania_ shared her perspective on shifting from ego to eco, breaking ECO down into three guiding principles: Equality, Coexist, and Open-hearted.

As conversations around climate solutions continue globally, her message reminds us that creating a healthier future also requires rethinking our relationship with each other and the natural world. by @tierratania_

Protecting public land means protecting OUR land. And yes, I’m thinking of public waters too 🐋

Keep your eyes on:

Yosemite National Park, now being considered to be partially sold to a private company. This could set a precedence for future parks to be sold.

Big Bend National Park, still at risk of being bulldozed over for an unnecessary wall. Thankfully, construction paused after public outcry, so let’s keep the pressure on! @nobigbendwall

Yellowstone National Park, while not in direct conflict at the moment, it lies in the state of Montana where data centers are being pushed @nonewdatacenters

Speak up like this land is yours, because it is.
