A nursery only lasts a season. A thoughtfully designed room lasts much longer.

We always design children’s spaces with the next chapter in mind, so when it’s time to trade the crib for a bed, the room grows with them instead of starting over.

And yes, we left the handprint on the window. One day, we will wipe it away for the last time. But it’s important to remember that your home can be beautiful and still show signs of life. 🤍

For years, home was wherever the next NFL season took them.

After more than a decade of constant moves, Tiffany (@tiff_compton) and Tom Compton were finally ready to put down roots. In Richmond, Virginia, they found a French country home on 11 acres with endless potential—and Tiffany took a leap of faith, overseeing a complete renovation in less than four months with no formal design experience.

The result is a timeless home filled with beautiful layers, from antique furnishings and a dreamy blue La Cornue range to a library honoring Tom’s football career. That first renovation also inspired Tiffany to launch Elliott Tate Design, turning one ambitious project into an entirely new career.

MEET TIFFANY

Tiffany is the queen of layers.

She’s the one thinking about the vintage kitchen runner before the cabinetry is finalized, collecting inspiration from thrifted books, and obsessing over the details that make a home feel collected rather than curated.

Before co-founding Elliott Tate Design, Tiffany spent nearly ten years working as an ER nurse. That experience shaped the way she approaches both business and design: calm under pressure & decisive when it matters.

In addition to leading design projects, Tiffany oversees much of the firm’s social media presence. She’s usually the voice behind what you see here on IG.

Her ability to refine layers and push a design (& sometimes people) beyond the expected is a big part of ETD.
