I’m so grateful for this opportunity and so excited for the next four years.

I couldn’t have made it this far without my village. I’m incredibly grateful for my wife, parents, friends, family, mentors, the PROMIS2U program, and the professors who have supported me, believed in me, and helped me get here.

It’s surreal to think that almost five years ago, I was days/weeks from dying from my EIMT cancer. I remember a time when I genuinely thought that simply living was going to be an impossibility. I couldn’t have imagined what five years from then would look like.

I’m incredibly blessed to have been spared and to have been given so much more than I could have imagined. I thank God every day for the gift of life and for the people and this opportunity He has placed in my life.

I’m beyond excited to learn how to heal and serve others, both in the big moments and in the small ways. I hope that, throughout this journey, I can have a similar impact on others as the nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who cared for me during my most vulnerable moments. I hope to make an impact in my community, in the lives of others, and make this world a little better place.

I hope to be a useful tool in His hands and to never lose sight of how fortunate I am to be here.

Here’s to the next four years.
