HAPPY BIRTHDAY LULU 💪🔥 i had the actual, factual time of my life at @downatlulus 20th anniversary party! down at lulu's attracts such a wild and weird and friendly crowd, from the entertainers to the $2 pile climbers, it was a 1000/10 good gddamn time! i built all these weightless weights, for the sweaty betty gymbo in all of us, out of trash! top of the line garbage! cereal boxes, paper towel cores, packing paper from shampoo purchases and whatever else was laying around. what a life! what a world! thank you @downatlulus for including me in your line up of freakers and for being such a fab shop and salon!!! thank you to @mamacelestefanclub for the body loan, and to @iamtranslucent @jordansjewelgarden for helping me with layers and layers of papièr mache and BIG thank you to @san_frag_hag for spending hours of her convalescence helping me make a silly little daydream cross paths with reality! 🥰😘 and BIG major thank you to @cheese.outtacontrol for being my forever inspo and muscle muse 💪💪💪

I’m on my way back to Brooklyn now, thankful for all of you my friends & family. There is love everywhere & strength & joy & community. I’m so appreciative to everyone who shared theirs with me, or gave me the privilege of adding a little music to it. Congratulations to Sarah and Patrick, congratulations to Nate and Chiara 🐈‍⬛💜🐈‍⬛

It’s been an eventful summer, to say in the least😅 I signed a lease for a 1,200 sq ft storefront in mid-August and got things set up to start taking my clients there in only a couple of weeks. I’m really proud to present my new salon in downtown Oakland — VISCERAL SPACE.

NOT PICTURED: two empty, semi-private suites built into the larger space. My vision has never been to own a traditional hair salon with all the matching stations in a row, but rather something more expansive than that. In addition to renting chairs to hair artists in the communal space, I am also seeking a couple of independent creatives and/or service providers to fill the rooms (hairstylists, nail artists, estheticians, waxers, cosmetic tattooers, florists, seamstresses, mini retail pop-ups….endless possibilities!)

I believe that it’s the people who truly make a space. Like a living, breathing organism, VISCERAL SPACE will always be shifting and changing. It’s exciting to see what will take shape, and I know there is nothing in the Bay Area that currently exists quite like it!

So far it’s just me (and you can book a haircut via the link in bio!) but hopefully not for long. This is only the beginning of something really special.

August was kind to meeeee 🥺 30 is off to a great start, my coworkers are the fkn sweetest & decorated my station for my birthday. I may or may not (but definitely did) cry during a bang trim about it

I started taking pole classes :) this shit is HARD & I’m really proud of my body for the strength it’s developing. Not to get too in my feelings about it but I haven’t done this much movement since before my health took a lil dip & it feels really really good

Finally got to meet @tiffmccoll & watch them make magic in real time

oh yeah guess who’s stomach is paralyzed lmaooooo ate a lil radioactive breakfast of unseasoned eggs & got a test done for 4 hours to find out more about my tummy troubles
