The 42nd annual edition of @theharrimancup Polo Match between alumni from @yalepolo and @virginiapoloclub took place on Saturday, September 19th at Bethpage Polo at the Park in Old Bethpage, Long Island. @jpress was the main sponsor of the event.

The Harriman Cup has a longstanding reputation as one of the best dressed events of year. In terms of sartorial splendor, it rivals other famous sporting events like the Henley Royal Regatta, Royal Ascot, and the Kentucky Derby.

In 1999, The New York Times covered the Harriman Cup when the event was held at the Ox Ridge Hunt Club in Darien, Connecticut. The article which begins “RALPH LAUREN, eat your heart out” provides a history of the event and highlights the stylish attendees.

This could be you… but you’re playing hard to get with a cupcake. Weird behavior. 😏🧁

You know you want it. I know you want it. Let’s stop pretending.

DM me and secure the goods before someone with less self-control does. 💅

Thank you to everyone who helped make Mickey’s 70th birthday a blast!!! We are sorry not everyone could make it. We would have invited the whole world if the rain didn’t keep us inside a lot of the time.

Just know that dad appreciates and loves everyone that he knows! You all are what make this life a fun one.

Thank you to @johnmcclark89 and Mario for making it a memorable night for Dad with all the Beatles Sing-a-longs!

Another year organizing a polo match, and yet another year not getting to watch any of the polo. #OrganizerProblems 😂

All worth it though since the 42nd Annual Harriman Cup presented by @JPress was a wild success. Thank you to everyone who attended - esp. our friends who come every year. 🙌

I want to personally thank all @TheHarrimanCup board members, polo players, and volunteers who make this day-long event happen annually. Being an all-volunteer-run nonprofit, everyone’s time, efforts, and dedication are much appreciated.

A huge thanks to our sponsors as well: @JPress @USPoloAssn @YaleClubNYC @VirginiaClub Biostratis @DAndrewsBakery @ChampagnedeLossy @Ivy_Style_com @PreppyHandbookFanClub @What2WearWhere @SundayPoloClub @HookPolo @TriCountyFeeds. Our polo match wouldn’t happen without you. Know that ALL our profits go to keeping collegiate polo alive and well by benefiting the @virginiapoloclub and @yalepolo. 🙏

As the oldest alumni polo match in the US, let’s keep this tradition going for another 42 years and beyond. Thanks again! Until next year! 🥂

FAQ: What are the Best Ways to get to the Harriman Cup Polo Match presented by @JPress on Saturday, Sept. 19th in Old Bethpage, NY?

A: 🚂 or 🚗 …and maybe 🐎

(1) By train, you can take the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station to Bethpage. There is a direct LIRR train on the Ronkonkoma line each hour around 0:17 and 0:54, and it’s a 51 minute ride to Bethpage. A free shuttle (look for the school buses) will take you from the train station to the polo match - 6 minutes away. 🚌

(2) If you arrive by car (or classic car), limo or party bus, the Bethpage Polo Field is 1 hour from Manhattan and 1 hour from the Hamptons. Parking at the Harriman Cup is free. (You can also purchase a Prime Reserved Tailgate Plot on our website.) The entrance is at the corner of Plainview Rd. and Manchester Dr. Just know that Bethpage State Park may charge an $8 fee to every vehicle that enters the park for golf, events, etc., and this is separate from the Harriman Cup.

Click on the links on @theharrimancup bio for info, apparel, and tickets to the 42nd Annual Harriman Cup presented by J. Press.
