SO happy I said YES to a party rather than celebrating the release of In a Word, Yes quietly and cozily at home. Huge thanks to everyone who said YES to coming!

Special shout-out to @wranglerdani for putting me at my ease, facilitating the author chat. This format turned out to be so much fun! And to all the Daring Sisters in attendance, my writing pals (sadly minus @authormelodycarlson, recovering from eye surgery), who listened to early chapters long ago and spurred me on, so this day might be possible. 🩷🙏🩷

📚 How do you like HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms so far? 📚

Let me showcase the newest paperbacks to adorn my humble shelf.

This is the newly redesigned 5-book box set of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire!

The cover design process paired linocut artist Mark Seekins with designer Tim Green, masters of their respective crafts. They worked together to develop sketches and carve the designs into linoleum blocks, where the raised areas were inked and pressed onto paper. Separate linoleum blocks were carved to capture different color layers. The finished prints were then photographed and eventually incorporated into the covers.

George puts it best: “The new design captures the vastness of Westeros and the dangerous journey readers will encounter. There is a raw and gritty quality to linocut and woodcut art. A certain starkness that seemed to fit the stories, and a long history to the art form that felt right for this world.”

These are the prettiest PBs on my shelves! What do you guys think? Do you like the redesigned covers?
