AMERICAN SWEATSHOP (2025) 🖥️💀📽️

Aka Clickbait. Written by Matthew Nemeth and directed by Uta Briesewitz this is an interesting idea for a film. A psychological thriller mystery that will appeal to horror fans. It’s about an office room of internet moderators that monitor reported content, which takes the lead Daisy down a dark path. I thought the first half was really interesting. It just all started to feel pretty depressing and like you were stuck in an office job where you couldn’t wait for home time, we watch movies to escape these places! But on the other hand it’s got a really good lead performance from Lili Reinhart and the supporting cast. It’s not perfect but it’s an interesting idea for a film and I think it’s worth a one time watch, could have been better. 6/10

It’s available on @primevideouk I didn’t even realise it was this film until today, because it’s called Clickbait on there!

Thanks @greenmanfest for having @theukpa team back again. As ever, had a blast.

And thanks to @sparks_official and @thebetaband for letting me make a poster for them. Both sold out, so apologies to folks asking after copies. Was very happy to get to see both bands live for the first time too.

A finally thanks to my pals @tommydavidsonhawley @armyofcats and @wethreeclub for being great company. I love you all very much.

A short break, a screening of The Cult in Glossop via @beholdtheblackcircle on Friday 28th Aug the off to do it all again at @endoftheroad

Don’t know how this documentary has passed me by for so long but it did - ABSOLUTELY LOVED - NG83 WHEN WE WERE B BOYS - a documentary about (& featuring) characters from the original B Boy /hip hop crews of Nottingham..this doc it’s up there with some of my absolute favourites like ‘Tales from a Hard City’.. if you’ve got access to PRIME it’s on there - treat yerself…. A couple of other notable documentaries currently doing the festival rounds that I really enjoyed are The Archivist - which is about Doc Rowe and his absolute unwavering passion for documenting British folklore traditions and his incredible archive..it’s dead dead good. Another goody - DEREK vs DEREK - 2 characterful farmers (who are neighbours) with two very different ways of farming .. ace, funny, interesting! See x

My week dedicated to boutique label Severin Films continues!!!! This horror documentary showed up for review from them. Any fans of the classic 1973 folk horror feature with horror icon Christopher Lee???? This is a newer documentary made by some of the children that grew up around this world. Have YOU seen it yet? #severinfilms #justinhardy #dominichardy #childrenofthewickerman #thewickerman

An amazing time was had at @sheffdocfest at the world premiere of ‘The Archivist’. Forgot to take any photos but here’s some of @paul_hartnoll doing his folk horror techno set at the after party and a very sweet little beast at the procession. @fifthcolumnfilmmakers thank you so much for inviting me to do the score- a total honour and privilege to join you all in the adventure of the @docrowearchive. Incredible film, special people…see you all at a Morris dance out in the wild! #weirdwalk #sheffdocfest #tykefilms #docrowe #thearchivistfilm
