There are some characters you play… and some characters that change you.

Yesterday Omar J. Dorsey gets real about Hollywood and how playing this character taught him about love in ways he never expected.

10 years later, the impact of QUEEN SUGAR — and Hollywood — still runs deep.

@queensugarown 10 year anniversary was a day to remember! It brought back All the wonderful feels & bottomless Love from @ava @arraynow @paulgarnes @tilanej @tammykgarnes Mercedes the dynamic (& hilarious) cast that surprised us @henrygsanders @timonkdurrett @tinalifford @omarjdorsey @alldondre @glynnturman1 Sharon Lawrence, the fans & every single person involved that helped make Queen Sugar a dream come true for All Of Us( @rutina_wesley @dawnlyen @kofisiriboe @biancajasminelawson @nicholas_maye @davidalangrier @antoniocalvacheasc @kirakellydp @owntv @oprah And Everyone Involved!❤️ Ava’s love & passion for what she created in the series, and everything she touches, is beyond galvanizing…she, along with the entire #arraynow team set the highest example of what it means to succeed with integrity, to be kind & raise everyone up along the way. The beautiful disclosures shared yesterday were striking: To hear Omar Dorsey convey that his character taught him how to love, & Timon shared that his character was going through the same life challenge as he was w/his son, and then a fan through her tears described how the hospital scene in the pilot was exactly what happened in her life w/her granddad when she was 5 yrs old. That’s how meaningful the storylines were- in the show and in the world. So healing🙏🏽 And that’s why it’ll always be a classic- with friendships of a lifetime🥰 I’m so beyond grateful for my Queen Sugar family & having the opportunity to work w/an uber-devoted, passionate cast & crew! I love you all & look forward to working together again! Something exciting awaits💖❤️. And to my Latinx community, aspiring artists, please, please attend an event at Array! This is the Best place to meet like-minded creatives in a safe space & learn from the best in the business! The Array campus is a Gift to the entertainment industry…I implore you to catch a screening. Love & Blessings To All Siempre❤️❤️🥰 #grateful #theavaeffect

They told us “reading is fundamental” as kids. Turns out, so is re-reading. 😂📚
I’m back in The Inner Fitness Revolution by @tinalifford, and @theinnerfitnessproject ‘cause I love catching things I wasn’t ready to catch the first time. Thanks @rupaulofficial for the “Reading is Fundamental” music!
