Really into what Mercury Tin and Philip Dizard have created at @tinsnyc. Inspired by their hometowns of Shanghai and New York, the space moves from a street-level diner serving crispy pan-fried soup dumplings and inventive cocktails to an underground lounge with Art Deco details and a cinematic feel.

TIN’s @tinsnyc, new Shanghai-inspired bar in LES — amazing, creative cocktails with Asian flavors, and the food menu features Sheng Jian Bao (Shanghai pan-fried pork buns)! The other food offerings Chinese-style snacks like five spice peanuts, lao gan ma popcorn, scallion oil noodles.

There’s an upstairs diner which is separate from the lounge downstairs. They have similar but separate menus for both food and drinks. We walked in on a Saturday evening after dinner and were able to get a table in the downstairs lounge which is what I was hoping for! Surprisingly easy to walk in for two people.

Have not checked out the diner upstairs, which feels more casual and is a louder vibe, but will have to return to try it! Also the drinks were quite strong!

• Bunny Blanco (tasted like a piña colada!)
• 7th Street Fizz
• Sheng Jian Bao (so juicy and yummy! Be very careful when biting into it because the soup is hot)

Spritz season is behind us. This fall, we’re trading bubbles for a little olive brine and something stirred.

On our rotation: Near Death Experience at @tinsnyc, King Tusk from @brass_tuskbar, the Dirty Martini at @jacsonbondnyc, and @thekeinyc’s Saffron Old Fashioned.

Which will you try next?

Tin’s (@tinsnyc) is a three-story Shanghai-inspired spot on the Lower East Side from partners Philip Dizard and Mercury Tin, built around sheng jian bao, Shanghai’s beloved pan-fried soup dumplings. It’s deeply personal. The couple traded their honeymoon for early-morning kitchen shifts at a Shanghai dumpling shop to learn the craft firsthand. Philip was the first person recognized by MICHELIN for its Exceptional Cocktails award, bar director Bowen Kirwood comes from Eleven Madison Park, Please Don’t Tell, and Shinji’s, and executive chef Justin Choung joins from the Michelin-starred bōm.

The space moves from the lively dumpling counter to something more intimate. Tin’s Shanghai Diner on the ground floor serves Shanghainese comfort food, with sheng jian bao, wontons, noodles, and rice, in a room that feels like a neighborhood spot you might stumble into in Shanghai. Downstairs, Tin’s Bar is the cocktail room, with narrative-driven drinks and bar dishes made for a night out. Below that, Tin’s Dream Room is a secluded private dining space.

We tried almost every item on the menu, and it was really good. The food pairs beautifully with the drinks, and we loved the vibe. It’s a fun, lively spot, and the kind of place that works whether you’re dropping in for dumplings or settling in for a long night of cocktails.

this new hidden bar needs to be the new hit!! 🍸

there are 3 stories total, all three with different vibes and decorations. The deeper you go in, the more impressed you will be by the interior designs and space 🤩 i thought this was a speakeasy at first but honestly i also loved their food menu— such good selection of traditional shanghainese food like shengjianbao生煎包 (pan fried soup dumpling) and scallion oil oodles 葱油拌面 🇨🇳

they just opened recently so check it out as it’s already super popular!!
