It was such an honor to be able to create for this sweet family who were celebrating a huge moment in their lives. It was even more special when it went beyond just flowers and I was able to chat and connect with such an amazing person.

This Sunday, May 3rd, is International Bereaved Mother’s Day, a day created in 2010 to honour and celebrate mothers who carry some—perhaps all—of their children in their hearts rather than their arms.💛

Mothers who are grieving infertility, pregnancy loss, the death of their babies and children, at any age, are often left with deep heartache on Mother’s Day. Mothers around the world are currently suffering the devastation of their children being killed in unfathomable circumstances, justified by inhumane, politically-fuelled ideologies.

Bereaved Mother’s Day provides all of these grieving moms with an opportunity to be seen as mothers, to talk about their children—the ones hoped for, the ones who died, the ones who were killed—in a world that often would rather we didn’t.

If you are grieving the loss of a child, of what might have been, I see you.

I honour you, your hopes and dreams, your children. As a bereaved mother, too, I grieve alongside you.

If there is someone in your life who is carrying this sorrow, please let them know you are thinking of them, and share in their memories if they choose to share with you. It is an honour and privilege to be present in these moments with a bereaved mom.

🎤🎤It’s time to stand up for moms, families and caregivers! Right now, Congress has the chance to make real change by passing two powerful bills:

🤰🏽THE FAMILY ACT 2025 - which would finally guarantee paid family and medical leave for every worker in the country.

🤰🏾THE MOMNIBUS ACT - a comprehensive package tackling the maternal health crisis. Improving care and supporting moms before during and after pregnancy.

Every parent deserves time to care for their families without risking their livelihood. Every mom deserves safe, respectful, high quality maternity care.

Here’s what you can do:

👉 Call or email your representatives. (Easy instructions in the @shebirthsbravely bio)

Thank you @luminapelvichealth @tinyandmighty_ot and @lilacandivyphotography for making calls with me.

Together, we can build a future where every mom and baby has the care, time, and support they need to thrive.

🎃👻 Sponsor Spotlight! 👻🎃

As we get ready for our ✨🎃 Edmonds Moms Meetup Monthly Mixer + 3rd Annual Halloween Party & Costume Contest! 🎃✨ we’re thrilled to highlight another incredible local mom and professional who’s making a big impact in our community — one tiny bite at a time! 🧡

🍼 Tiny & Mighty Therapy — founded by Suzie Driscoll, MOT, OTR/L — specializes in pediatric feeding therapy and early childhood development. A mom herself and a board-certified occupational therapist, Suzie brings warmth, expertise, and genuine care to every family she supports. 💛

Before opening her private practice here in downtown Edmonds, Suzie spent years working with children from infancy through young adulthood at Seattle Children’s Hospital. That experience gave her a deep appreciation for the early milestones that build positive lifelong relationships with food — and the confidence for little ones to thrive. 🌟

When Suzie became a mom, her mission grew even clearer: to help babies and their families navigate feeding with love, patience, and support. She founded Tiny & Mighty Therapy in 2022 to be the clinician, advocate, and cheerleader she wished she had as a new mom. 🧡

✨ Prize Details:
Suzie has generously donated a complimentary registration for the Tiny & Mighty Bites: Starting Solids Series — a 3-week group course (valued at $275) designed for babies 4–8 months old who are beginning their solids journey. 🍽️

Families will learn about readiness for solids, best first foods, feeding therapist-recommended gear, introducing allergens, utensils, and cups — plus, it’s a great way to meet other local families!

Connect with Suzie:

📸 @tinyandmighty_ot
Office located in Edmonds Bowl on 3rd!

Thank you, Suzie, for your generosity — and for supporting our community’s tiniest eaters (and their mighty parents!) every step of the way. 🧡

📣 Exciting announcement! Here’s how our Edmonds Moms Meetup Halloween Costume Contest winners & prizes will work this year! 🧡✨

Each family who dresses up will receive 4 colorful tickets when you arrive 🎟️:
🟧 Orange – Best Themed Family Costume
🟦 Blue – Best Dressed Baby/Toddler (ages 0–5)
🟩 Green – Favorite Individual Costume (Honorable Mention)
🟨 Yellow – Raffle Entry (drop in the cauldron for a random prize draw!)

You’ll write your name on the back, mingle, and hand your tickets to the people who wow you with their costumes — it’s our fun way to meet, connect, and spread some spooky cheer! 👻💫

✨ Here’s the heart behind it 🧡
We want to honor everyone who shows up and joins in — whether your costume is store-bought, homemade, or just a little festive flair. We don’t have prizes for everyone, but everyone has a shot at winning, even if you didn’t have the time, bandwidth, or budget to go all out. 💛

This is all about community, creativity, and connection — just come, have fun, and soak in the magic of being together. 🧡

🏆 There will be 3–4 winners per category, and each winner gets to choose their prize in order of votes received. PLUS, multiple raffle prizes — so everyone has a chance to take home something special! 🎁

Our prizes have been generously donated by incredible local businesses, so every vote and smile supports the community we love. 🙏🏼

You must be present to vote & win, so stick around — the fun (and prizes!) happen toward the end of the event. 🥳

I had the best time connecting with this amazing feeding therapist Suzie in our local community! We share the same heart for helping families, especially when it comes to the connection between oral function, feeding, and whole-body wellness.

As a mother who struggled with issues with her own kids, feeling overwhelmed and never given any answers. I wish I met this lady years ago!
It’s so great building these bridges and learning from other passionate providers in my community!
