👋 Hello new and old friends! It's been almost 2 (!) years since my last "About Me" post so I thought it was time!

👶 I am a mom and a pediatric occupational therapist. These two roles are one of the most important passions in my life, and it brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I can talk about mom life and OT life all day every day!

🫶 I enjoy connecting with others and creating lasting friendships. This fits well with my work supporting babies and families as well as with my team-based approach with other providers. I identify most closely as a shy extrovert, but if we click, you'll have a fiercely loyal friend for life! 🐯

🏥 Before starting Tiny and Mighty Therapy, I worked in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. While I love having the flexibility to balance work and mom life (it's actually more work, but I have the flexibility to take my daughter to appointments, school drop-offs, etc), I miss my coworkers! Even though I had to lock myself in treatment rooms sometimes to finish documentation right @agordon55 and @missjulie.theslp ? 😂

🤱🥑 I LOVE supporting babies with tethered oral tissues (tongue/lip/cheek ties) to breast/chest/bottle feed well and meet their developmental milestones and also babies in their starting solids era! ✨️This passion grew immensely after having my own baby. At Seattle Children's Hospital, I was able to see the importance of starting kids off to the right start to help decrease developing feeding difficulties later down the road. Teaching the right skills and building positive associations can have so many benefits for happy, adventurous eating!

🥒❌ On a related note, I HATE cucumbers. That's right, I'm a picky eater too. Hate is a strong word, but that's what happens when you are forced to eat something that you don't feel like at the moment (thanks mom! 😂 I know she meant well but I'm living proof that force feeding backfires BIG time). More on this later but this is why I feel so passionate about responsive feeding therapy! See slide 7 for a photo of my coworkers playing a prank on me with a giant cucumber 😂

*Ran out of room, 1 more fun fact in the comments! 🩷🩷🩷 taken in Seattle, Washington by @tinyandmighty_ot

🥑 I've shared this in my stories before and thought it needed a permanent square on my feed! I am pleased to join the @solidstarts PRO for healthcare professionals and their directory.

📚 I'm a lifelong learner and this principle applies to my clinical practice as well to ensure that I am up-to-date on the most recent evidence-informed research and practices to best care for the kids and families I work with.

🌱 @solidstarts Professionals Directory is a great resource if you are looking for local feeding healthcare providers such as therapists (OT or SLP), dieticians, nutritionists, allergists, or pediatricians.

Wondering what foods are good first solids for baby? Here's a good list to start! 🥑🍌🥚

Safety is #1 and I highly recommend that you take infant CPR course and learn about choking vs. gagging. Baby led weaning is great, but remember combo feeding is more than OK. Big kids and adults eat “purée” forms too, such as yogurts and pudding. No matter your approach, being responsive to baby’s cues and follow your comfort level is key for enjoyable meal time together 🍽

Why did I wait so long to hire my newest team member??? 🤣🫧
Seriously, getting a dishwasher that does it all has been an absolute game changer! It saves me so much time between sessions, and yes… I lovingly consider it an official employee at this point. 🧼✨

❤️ BIG NEWS! ✨️We're rebranding!!✨️

...Just kidding, Happy April Fool's! Tiny & Mighty Therapy was inspired by my own sweet and spicy 🔥 daughter, who's had her share of feeding challenges as a newborn. She was indeed tiny and mighty, hence the inspiration for my life's work!

Although, if I had my son first, the namesake may have been Jumbo & Mighty Therapy instead 🤣 His nickname was coined by a nurse right after he was born, when she lovingly and joyfully exclaimed "He's jumbo!" It was meant to be, since the address of Swedish First Hill (where he was born) is 747 and my husband works at a certain aerospace company with a jumbo jet, numbered 747 🤍✨️🫶✈️

At Tiny & Mighty Therapy, we love all babies of all sizes whether they are tiny and spicy or jumbo and gentle or anywhere in between 🤍👶🤍 taken in Edmonds, Washington by @tinyandmighty_ot

University of Washington cherry blossom season over the years 🌸💜💛

I started undergrad at UW in 2004 and grad school in 2014, and it's been so special to enjoy this Seattle spring tradition for over 20 years (!) as I grew as a person and now with my own family 💗🌸

One of my favorite years include spring 2021 when E was about 7 months old and we got there super early since we were up anyways 🤣 Due to the pandemic and the early hour, there was hardly anyone there. Last year was also special, as we were pregnant with R. However, this year tops as my ultimate favorite year so far, with both E and R joining the festivities 🌸🤍 I'm already looking forward to next year- R should be toddling (maybe running) around by then! 👶🏃‍♂️

Wait what do you mean the 90s was 30 years ago?

I was born in the 80s, raised in the 90s between South Korea and U.S., partied in the 00s, and have been growing older and wiser since the 10s 🤣😎

Happy Valentine's Day friends! 💓🫶✨️

This year, Valentine's Day looks a little different for me as we continue to adjust to this wild rollercoaster of Parenthood Part. 2 🤣🎢

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I thought I'd post some never-seen-before photos from the Galentine's Day themed Tiny & Mighty Open House last year 💖 I never got around to posting them then, because I was in the 2nd trimester and busy #momlife , though things are even more busy now! 🤪

Despite the frozen streets, it was lovely to see so many of you who came to hang out, eat good food, and catch up 🫶🥂💓

I hope I didn't miss anyone- if I have, so sorry and please tag yourselves 💓 And for those who missed it- I will have another get together once life (sort of) settles down 🤣💕

If you know me, you know I live for nostalgia 🫶💖 I heard we're looking back at 2016 so I dug out a few things from the archives.

2016 was an especially meaningful year for me, not just because it was exactly 10 years ago, but it was a year full of events that set up the next 10 years for me. Wedding planning was in full swing, and I was finishing up my final year of grad school and internships (aka fieldwork in OT lingo). I was young (ish), wild (kinda), and free (for sure, as I wasn't a parent yet lol), and there seemed to be so much promise to be had in the future.

🤍 So many things have changed since 2016, yet some things have stayed the same. So much love to friends and family who have been my rock through these most formative years of my adulthood.

Cheers to the next 10 years when we reflect next in 2036! 🙌✨️🥂 taken in Seattle, Washington by @tinyandmighty_ot
