What a day today 🤩

Feeling very grateful of my friend Ivan Rolls for coming over to Dubai and putting Annebel A. Abo through her 3rd Dan black belt with Rivals Gym Dubai

Martial arts opens way more doors than you will ever think is possible!

We met Ivan just over 4 years ago and when we were making introductions myself and Scott sat proud as punch describing Rivals and how we were professional world champions with the best gym in Scotland

Ivan introduces himself next and he has 10 full time locations, 1000s of students along with everything else he was going. Very inspiring 🙌🏻

Right then we knew we were surrounded with the right people!

Fast forward a couple of years when we were speaking about Launching in Dubai and he said he knew the perfect coach 🥊

The rest is history they say!!

Annebel is absolutely world class! A tremendous leader and a coach you can trust in guiding you on your martial arts journey

A very proud and blessed moment to have her promoted to 3rd Dan with Ivan and a new path on the journey

From age 3 to 63, to student becoming a facility owner. We transform lives through martial arts and if you’re not part of it you’re missing out 🙏🏻

Away to celebrate with some dinner 😋

SAM son.. WTF is this, I’m going to smack your ar*e so sore

Killarney 2003!

Here’s another incredible throwback!!

Myself and Scott just rocked up to a beautiful picturesque location on the south west of Ireland, ready to take part in the WKA world championships as part of team Scotland

But first

Memories were to be made 😂

Long story short we had a good fight with baked beans and orange juice, around this beautiful White House lol

The travelling, the making new friends, eyeing up competitors and fighting for your country was what it was all about!

The trips will stay with me forever. And that’s what martial arts is truly about!!

To the rivals teams that are over in the US getting ready to compete for the world championships! Enjoy every last second of it

Have fun & go do what you’ve been training for!! 🥊

Ps
Don’t buy baked beans or orange juice 😂

Pps
For everyone else we will catch you at the rivals open next Saturday 🙌🏻

Last chance to register!!

What a night I had coaching tonight 👊

Thank you to everyone who came in and gave it there all. Hopefully you all enjoyed it as much as me. 🐝
Classes from ASN, ninjas right through to adults and everything in between, I thoroughly enjoyed it 🙌

Was great to cover some of Jordan’s session when he’s away to the championships in America with some of the gang 🥊

Absolutely blessed 🙏

🥊 Young whipper snappers Sam & Scott! 😂👊

Throwback to the days when we were posing for the Wishaw Press with our first titles, back in the light-contact days! 🏆

This was inside the old Allanton Miners Welfare Hall, a place that holds a special bit of history for us… it’s actually where we took part our very first interclub! ❤️

Sadly the place is now knocked down but looking back, it’s a great reminder that we all start somewhere.

You don’t need to be the best, the strongest or the most experienced when you walk through the door. You just need to take that first step, trust the process and keep showing up. 💪

From those young lads chasing their first titles to building Rivals Gym and helping the next generation create their own journeys… it’s incredible! 🥊🔥

🚨 LAST CHANCE TO ENTER THE RIVALS OPEN!

Your journey has to start somewhere. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the rivals open series 2 on the 31st of October 👊🏆

The Rivals Open series 2, 2 weeks tomorrow 🥇

What a buzz the first one was!

The Rivals Open - series 2 is almost here and we cannot wait!!

Series 1 was a great day highlighting the experience the kids will hold with them for years to come just as Sam and Scott, along with the other coaches have…

I still remember my very first tournament so clearly, and I spoke about it recently in a short video explaining what The Rivals Open is all about.

It was an inner-club competition, but when we turned up there were loads of faces we didn’t recognise other people who trained at different venues, all part of the same wider team.

Even as kids, that created that wee bit of rivalry. You wanted to beat the ones from the “other nights” 😂

And that’s really where the idea behind The Rivals Open comes from.

Friendly rivalry. Club pride. Representing your team.

But done the right way with a safe, controlled and supportive environment.

It gives our students the chance to experience competition, test themselves, build confidence and be part of something bigger without the pressure that can come with stepping straight into an external event.

Series 1 was brilliant.

Now we’re ready to make Series 2 even better. 🥊🏆

The bigger the dream, the more important the team, because true success is even better when it’s built together 🙌

An outstanding meeting today with the rivals team 🐝

I felt very grateful delivering our presentation this morning with everyone, super blessed that I get to call this ‘work’ 🥳
It’s absolute madness what we’ve managed to achieve in the past few years together, and without the team behind us all none of it would be possible 🙏

Very excited about the last 1/4, with some great plans on finishing the year strong 💪

Cups full 🥋👊

🥊 What a night @rivalsgym_netherburn 🙌🏻

Last night I had the privilege of stepping in and coaching the sessions while Coach Lee was away for the weekend for his wee girl’s christening.

And I couldn’t be more proud of what Lee is building over in Netherburn! 💙

The atmosphere, the energy in the classes, the standard of the students and, most importantly, the amazing team and community that’s being created.

To see how far the club has come in such a short space of time is incredible, and it was brilliant getting back on the mats and coaching everyone myself!

Lee, you’re absolutely smashing it mate! 👏🏻

And to everyone who trained last night… what a team! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼
