Okay first, the dakii just had me picturing Derpy (Kpop Demon Hunters) with horns through the whole book lol

Def a good book. The world building was insanely wonderful.
I love the magical blacksmithing.
Seeing Iryana do what she did to help her people, even if she “didn’t fit”, was great.
She cared about them so much.
Pyetar was a complex character that had so many struggles without showing it all the time.
I liked Karvek for all of 2 seconds and then hated him.
I do want to know more about how he was forged the way he was.
I’d also love to know more about Pyetars forging too!

I can’t wait to read the second book!

Buckle up for a BookThreads scene! 😂 These characters are the best! Check out the duology to see what actually happened.

The Wells of Istri duology is COMPLETE. Because the Gods Left is available now. This epic fantasy series by @madelinejameswrites comes with a slow burn enemies to forbidden lovers romance and is full of aching tension, a brutal world of monsters and fragile hope, and a heroine torn between duty, desire, and survival.

Both books in the duology are available on Kindle Unlimited, eBook, paperback, and hardcover.
The Wells of Istri Duology is perfect for those who like the idea of Nesta from ACOTAR infiltrating the military of Fourth Wing (except instead of riding dragons, they’re fighting beasts). Great for fans of Shield of Sparrows, The Legends of Thezmarr, and The Serpent & The Wings of Night.

Beware the beasts.
Find the well.
Guard your heart.

Iryana has one mission: infiltrate a hostile brigade and forge her magic in their guarded wells. But surviving a fortress of killers is harder than she bargained for, especially with Pyetar watching her. He’s the enemy’s lethal enforcer, yet he keeps saving her life. To save her clan, ryana can’t let anyone close. But the lines are blurring, and she must guard her heart.

Read for:
⛰️a broken world with broken characters
⚔️guardian clan families
⚔️guardian x soldier
💜slooooowwwww burn
💜enemies to lovers
🐺dangerous, magical beasts
⚔️anti-damsel-in-distress
⛰️siberia-like world

‘Golden eyes meet mine, wide with pain and fury. For a moment, the world narrows to the slow, labored rise and fall of its chest and the tremor in its limbs as it struggles against the cruel metal teeth.’

What’s that noise? It’s just me screaming over this artwork of Aella with the Leonai. THE DETAILS!🪽

Unfortunately, I have a lot of art that remains too spoilery for sharing at the moment. Fortunately, @tivusan dropped this in my inbox this week for me to share with you! I can’t wait for you to meet this beautiful creature in Daughter of the Tempest! 🥹

ICYMI:
Daughter of the Tempest is OUT NOW! It is book two in an epic romantic fantasy with found family, political intrigue, a world on the brink of war, villainous patriarchal characters, hidden identities, romance arcs with yearning, slow burn and ferocity, and two best friends together through it all.
You can read Songbird of the Sorrows and Daughter of the Tempest now! 🕊️🤎🩵

⁉️ CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER (LOVER) !!! Who are you picking? And if you only like girls... I'm so sorry because I wracked my brain and couldn't think of any horned female love interests so pls help me out here with ur recommendations bc i wanna read those books!!!!

In today's edition of "oh yeah I really can post whatever I feel like on the internet", this bisexual stereotypical tiefling-lover invites you to pick a bookish love interest with horns 😆

There are some babes here but I would have to go with LESZY because I absolutely love a grumpy boi obsessed with duty.

I've tagged all the authors and artists in the respective slides (apologies for some of my terribly low res images lmao). Let me know who you pick and have fun!

Also DO hit me up for more recs of books with antlered love interests, as well as the illusive female antlered baddies!!

Happy weekend y'all xx

“The fragile peace forged in the wake of the Arcane Crucible is unraveling. With the rise of an ancient evil, the scars dividing Arcanis have begun to bleed anew, and the future of the realm hangs by a thread.

Elyria Lightbreaker has paid a devastating price to save her loved ones. Now, she faces a whole new darkness—and must decide how much more of herself she’s willing to give to save a world that’s already taken so much from her.

Rocked by the secrets of his past and the truth of his power, Cedric Thorne scours the continent for the woman he loves. But as Elyria is pulled ever further from reach, saving her could mean becoming something unforgivable…and once Cedric’s fire is unleashed, there may be no putting it out.

A queen of shadow. A king of flame. A love bound and burdened by prophecy. When some wounds run too deep to be healed, peace might not be worth the cost.”
