Who says you can’t do both 💪 🏃‍♂️

7/9 on my first meet back at 82.5kg Class, with bench and deadlifts going exceptionally well. We all know how squat reffing went for this meet so squats were redacted, just glad we didn’t bomb out. No lifetime PRs but PRs for bench and deadlifts at this new lower bodyweight, only 2.5kg less than my lifetime PRs for bench and deadlift. Totaled 1,360 lbs - 429/325/606 💪 @systematic_strength the first meet working together, and is only the beginning. (Special shout-out to @jack.ironmecca for being a stellar handler for this meet! Made the experience go smooth and helped me execute as well as I did on the platform, also shoutout to Team Wavy and every single one of y’all supporting me, I will be stronger next time)

Last minute decided to do the Richmond half marathon about 2.5 weeks ago registered. Didn’t have any expectations with running a race of any length and expected a 2:30-2:50 half marathon time since I had no idea how I’d feel after not running 2 weeks before the powerlifting meet. Ran 2 times after the meet to get as much back into the groove of running for the race. Ran the race with @yooraph (doing the full!!!!) and @dylipino crushing his half marathon. Last but certainly not least, the entire reason I registered to do the race, @joannauylifts 💕 convinced me to join her (which didn’t take much convincing 😂). I kept psyching myself out and thinking I was gonna have a pretty slow or rough race. She believed in me a lot more than I believed in myself, and running gaming side her and in the friendliest race around made this race so fun. Managed to pull a 2:11 half marathon race with no prep, only 6 minutes slower than my all time best half marathon time I hit during my shamrock marathon prep. I was considerably weaker back then, so being able to have a great meet and following it up with this race performance had inspired me to never doubt myself. And that doing both powerlifting and running is possible 😤. It’s only the start, I’ll only get faster and stronger.

This meet was nothing short of amazing. Everything went according to plan and I couldn’t imagine meet day playing out any other way. I PR’d on every lift. The atmosphere in the gym was was electric, from the spectators to fellow competitors, and my team. The hype really fueled each of my attempts (let’s just ignore the fact that I was pushing almost 1000mg of caffeine LOLOLOLOL never doing that again)
Prep was definitely a roller coaster. I injured my shoulder near the start of prep and I couldn’t even bench a plate with out shooting pain go from my shoulder to my wrist. My decision to commit to sumo was also a huge learning curve and my hips def had a “break in period” LOL regardless I was able to over come it and show out on the platform.
I wanna start off thanking @wavypvblo for being the best coach I could ever ask for. Thank you @__tiny_satan for being the person to help handle me along with @nj.wavy @wu.dangclan @tk_lifts29 @bigmailifts and the rest of Team Wavy. This meet was special to me because it marked my 1 year anniversary since I first stepped on the platform at the same meet, BATB 2022. Just shows that I have so much room to grow and build.

Next stop VA State Championship and the 82.5kg Junior VA State Deadlift record 😈

thankyou for amazing handling @nj.wavy @wavypvblo, honestly so surprised i got a depth call on my last squat which is seen in the reel but i understand it was a smidge questionable clearly but really happy overall with how it moved.

bench went absolutely perfect and honestly have 315 in the bag if i really wanted it.

deadlift ELUDES me, i rushed the setup for 507 and ended up having it roll out of my thumbs right at the shins, alas i know 500lbs is in the tank for me but just not executed to what my standards were at the meet.

thankyou to everyone who showed out and gave some support ! thankyou #teamwavy #teamripple teammates for the love.

lastly, thankyou @alben_getswavy for the meet prep and coaching.

Happy with my performance but never satisfied.
