“Nerves aren’t real!” 😂⚡

The 2026/27 WNBL season tips off tonight!

At last week’s media conference, I asked Adelaide Lightning Head Coach Aja Parham-Ammar about the importance of having Tess Madgen as General Manager and whether there were any nerves heading into the new season.

Safe to say Aja isn’t buying into preseason nerves! 😂

🎙️ Hear what she had to say.

Spearheading the Lightning strike ⚡️

Former Australian Opals captain Tess Madgen is back in her home state as the General Manager of Basketball for the team she grew up idolising.

On the eve of the WNBL27 season, she spoke to Jason Cadee on Cut to the Jase about why she decided to become GM of the Lightning and taking it back to being a club for South Australians.

From the court to the front office! 🏀⚡️

With the Adelaide Lightning officially launching their 2026/27 season last night, there’s a familiar face embracing a new role.

Since stepping away from playing, Tess Madgen has tried her hand at a few different opportunities within basketball. Now she’s taking on a new challenge as General Manager of the Adelaide Lightning.

🎙️ At last week’s press conference, I asked Tess how she’s finding the transition and settling into her new role.

The Adelaide Lightning are fortunate to have someone with Tess’s experience, passion and knowledge of the game helping shape the club’s future beyond her playing career. 💜

If basketball doesn’t work out, art probably won’t either… 😂🎨⚡️

The Next Strike | Part 4

What did the academy players take from Game #1 to Game #2 at Technology One Townsville Tip-Off?

After proving they could compete in Townsville, our Academy athletes carried that confidence into their next challenge.

Facing the speed, physicality and intensity of WNBL-level basketball pushed them outside their comfort zone and helped them grow.

And behind every challenge is a coach who believes in them. For Aja, honesty, high standards and support go hand in hand.

This is how the next generation is built. ⚡
