POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
we were driving home towards Eaton Tuesday night, was around 630 and Chase and I both caught a glimpse of red smoke in the sky right above where we live. We were about 8 minutes from home. The wind had kept us inside the last two days so we were both thinking the same thing but out loud I said, “it’s just some red light shining on a cloud”
I called my neighbors.
When we turned onto altadena we saw a clear trail of flames and it was sprinting down the hillside.

We have no time. Wind was slamming against the car, we turned onto our street and we were blocked by a 70ft fallen pine tree. Drove up onto our neighbor’s yard and through the tree. Pulled up to the house, black smoke everywhere, 80 mph winds, it was trash day, we grabbed the kids protecting their heads and ran in, our pup Louie ran out the front door and into the car. We loaded back in and left.

Thank you to all the firefighters that have risked their life to keep us safe. My heart breaks for my beautiful community and friends of Altadena and Eaton canyon. Everything in town has been wiped out but the memories are very very strong. We’ll be displaced for the next few weeks but we are very lucky that our home is still standing. A few homes on our street didn’t make it. It’s encouraging to see people showing up for one another.
