Six weeks ago I hit the moment when I can’t live without a dog anymore. My sister said let’s go to the @sanfranciscospca and “just look.” We saw this baby angel and there was no leaving without her. Rosie is as gentle and sweet-natured as they come. She’s an older gal at 12yo and I’m elated to give her the best life in her older years. It’s been a joy to watch her gain comfort and trust in her new home and routine. I love to see her explore the outdoors with so much sniffing and curiosity. It’s clear she’s a special soul as she melts every heart she meets. These days, one of the warmest feelings is to witness bursts of her happiness. She’s got a lot of spirit and strength but still needs her naps, just like her mama. I bet she didn’t know she was going to retire by the beach! Welcome home sweet girl. You’ve filled my heart back up and you bring me joy on the daily. These pets of ours truly provide one of life’s best gifts, love. Dog mom for lyfe.❤️♾️🙌 by @tmpfeif

Honestly, thank god for social media. I lost this video and it just resurfaced as a FM memory. He thrashed up the bed all the time. I miss my boy so damn much😭 Forever blessed and heartbroken at the same time. That’s what true love will do to you. My forever angel.♾️❤️🕊️ by @tmpfeif

Rest in peace little angel. I’m so grateful you and Heather found each other. You’re truly the best little spirit and you made our home so special. You loved people so much and proved to many that cats are awesome. I’ll miss your purr sessions while curled up on my lap and waking up to you face to face. Part2. You & Panda were play pals for the ages. Seeing you 2 made my heart burst! We went on surf checks up & down the CA coast. I walked you, surfed, we explored some more. I’m in the water at OB, I see a black dog alone on the beach. It was you! I left the back window down. You crossed GH & found me. Thank god you were ok. We’d take 2 hour walks in GGP. Cus of you I learned about wildlife. Cus of you I stood still in nature & felt grounded. Remember camping with burners in Napa? Id never seen you run so fast chasing that jack rabbit. Nat Geo. Remember getting stuck in Face? Probably a top moment of your life. Heather taught you to bark for treats. You sat by anyone with food. I didn’t blame you for trying. So many strangers stopped to pet you. Theyd smile & walk away feeling lighter. So many strangers took pictures of your eyes. One golden brown, the other sky blue. The many expressions of your face. “Tag looks like he’s seen some shit”. Age 12 arthritis showed up. No more stairs, jumping in cars, sleeping in my bed. 13-15 walks became shorter & slower. You never lost your drive or spark. You couldn’t hump but would hop, hop & we all knew what you meant. You barked at the mailman with pride in protecting your house. You cuddled & enjoyed face scratches. You looked for me more than ever. You couldn’t go everywhere with me so I decided not to go everywhere & stay with you. With you I was never ever alone. We had 3 beautiful last days & 1 last morning walk together. I made you a steak & hotdog. Your breathing became labored & you were so tired. But your strong sense of smell gave you the strength to sit up& I hand fed you. It was clear you were ready to be at peace. I kissed & held you through your last breath. Stubborn, gracious& funny as hell. You weren’t just a light in my life but a light in our community. Friends say you had a commanding presence & real seat at the table. I’m so proud of you. I lost a piece of me when you left. But I gained all of me cus I had you at all. My star crossed bond. Tag, you are the greatest love of my life. Now you get to meet my dad. Part1. Dear Tag. Taggy my child, faithful companion, & best friend. I always knew missing you would be one of the hardest experiences of my life. Here I am, my life forever changed. 14yrs I woke to your sweet face. 14yrs you walked by my side. 14yrs it’s been Tiff & Tag. I was 26 when I met you volunteering walking dogs at the shelter. You were 10 months, calm, gentle & sweet natured. This is the one! I went to adopt you, you were gone. “Adopted to a good family.” I was crushed. The following week I’ll never forget the surprise I felt when I saw your face behind the bars. They brought you back. I had no idea I just received a soulmate. Cautious & timid, you were scared to walk down the hall. So I slept on the couch with you for over a month. I discovered a BB pellet in your hip. I didn’t know much about you expect you’d been shot & given up twice. All I wanted was to learn what made you happy & feel safe. I learned you didn’t play fetch, chew toys, go for runs, or play with dogs. I learned you loved to be outside! To take long walks, long sniffs, chase squirrels, dips in calm water, hump other dogs & lift your leg on every raised object. “Tag there’s no more pee left”. So we went to GL, CB, DP, AS, GGP, OB & so many other fields, forest, lakes & beaches. When I grabbed your leash you went from lounging cat dog to doing donuts. Being outside with you has been my life’s greatest joy. We grew up together. Age 1-4, young, our wingspans out wide. I took you everywhere. Your recall was awful, you weren’t food motivated & was defiant to roam. I didn’t like to yell & had faith you’d come back. A few nerves were shot along the way but you always came back. I watched you gain a mentor in Mark as he taught you to gopher hunt. You weren’t a fighter but under the radar this chill dog started shit with muscular breeds. Your determination to chase a squirrel when on leash is seared in my memory. Up on 2 legs with high pitch yelps. Age 5-11 were favorites. Our free spirits mellowed out. Parameters of your exploration grew smaller as you stayed closer & checked in often. I gained your trust & we built a home. Remember when you & Nico jumped in SL to chase remote control boats?… by @tmpfeif
