#SoundOn 🔊 . . . Adulting is hard 😂 But amidst the woes, I’m reminded of the silver lining: the unwavering support of loved ones. From navigating European streets to just being there when fuel queues test my patience, my friends and family make adulthood feel less daunting. Today, let’s take a moment to thank those who make life a little easier. So, tag someone in the comments and thank them for all the ways they’ve lightened your load. #Day4 of the consistency challenge is all about gratitude. 🙏💕 #Thankful #Gratitude #Family #Friends #Love #ConsistencyChallenge #ContentCreator #FusionCreatorsChallenge #ConsistencyChallenge

P A R T O N E:⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: How long was your last relationship?⁣ ○#Him: I've never officially been in a relationship - and I'm in my 30s.⁣ I always say I grew up too quick as a person and as a Christian. At an early age, it was clear to me that “dating” was just for a bunch of teenagers to experiment and try all sorts of things and I just wasn't interested.⁣ I did try to date in my final year of secondary school. I liked one girl but she ended up disappointing me by dating someone else who later broke her heart in the same term (laughs). ⁣ Then uni came. My cousins who went there told me every girl was probably somebody’s girlfriend (and the somebody was most likely always a cultist) so in the first and second year, I focused on my studies. In year 3, I was open to dating but I think my standards did not allow for much room. ⁣ Thing is, I tend to scan a friendship or person from afar and do a "characteristics elimination" and then just decide that even though I might like this person, it’s not going to go far so, why bother.⁣ When I finished Uni, I quickly understood that seeing someone required some form of income. I was trying to find my footing and even though I kept searching, meeting and having friends, finding a partner was not a priority but a few years back, it became one. ⁣ ⁣ (Continued in part two)⁣ (Photo was sent in by the interviewee) #Dating #Single #Marriage #Uni #School #FYP #Explore #Relationships #TheRelationshipJournal #TRJ

⁣ P A R T T W O:⁣ ⁣ ○#Him: I have maybe really liked 2-3 people. One is just complicated. The other didn’t work 'cause of her family and I think the last major one doesn’t want to be in a relationship. ⁣ I’m here in the UK now. Had 3 jobs (2 back home and one here) plus school so I had to focus. And now that I’ve graduated, I've been prioritising it again but nothing so far. Well not nothing - there was this girl who proved to be quite vindictive when hurt and manipulative so it didn’t work out. There's also this woman who is 8-9 years older than me that’s been eyeing me but it can't work.⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: Would you say you're picky or have unrealistic standards?⁣ ○#Him: People say I have high standards. Maybe when I was younger, I did, but as you get older, you streamline. I think my "list" is quite fair. ⁣ I want to date with intent to marry. Not for fun. Or to pass time. And it’s not 'cause I’m over 30 because even when I was 24/25, dating wasn’t a joke to me. And as for marriage, forever is too LONG to make the wrong choice.⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: How would you describe life as single person all these years?⁣ (Continued in part 3)⁣ (Photo sent in by the interviewee)⁣ ⁣ #Dating #Single #Marriage #Uni #School #FYP #Explore #Relationships #TheRelationshipJournal #TRJ

P A R T T H R E E⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: How would you describe being single all these years?⁣ ○#Him: I’d say fantastic. My female friends have unintentionally helped to shape me. So have the friends I’ve come close to dating. They’ve let me know where I thrive as a prospective partner and also where to improve. I also haven't been able to avoid the drama of reckless dating and having countless relationships as I have been the bestie/"unofficial assistant boyfriend" to many of my female friends. I have heard their stories, listened to them rant, given advice. Frankly, a lot of boyfriends owe me royalties for saving their relationships directly and indirectly (laughs). ⁣ But yeah, I’ve learned to live alone and it has only taught me that nothing would please me more (biologically and Biblically) than to have a companion I can count on and rely on for the rest of my life.⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: Have you considered dating apps? Including faith-based ones?⁣ ○#Him: Considered? Yes! ⁣ Pulled the trigger? No.⁣ Dating apps appear to me to be pretentious. Let’s just say there’s not a lot of good PR for dating apps around me. ⁣ There's this group I'm in though, for international students and working class people and they organised a speed dating thing. 3 girls showed interest. ⁣ Two seemed okay at first. But one kept being “busy” whenever I was trying to hang out and see her in person, and was always giving monosyllabic responses. I am not carrying a convo for two people at this my big age (laughs). ⁣ Second one was obsessed with me helping her to get her Temu profile up (sigh).⁣ Didn’t really like the last one, and she actually seemed the most level-headed but there wasn’t any attraction.⁣ ⁣ ●#TRJ: So, what's on your "list"? ⁣ ⁣ (Continued in part four)⁣ (Photo sent in by the interviewee)⁣ ⁣ #Dating #Single #Marriage #Uni #School #FYP #Explore #Relationships #TheRelationshipJournal #TRJ
