Artist Spotlight: Twyla Lambert Clark
Fiber Artist | Nashville, TN

Twyla creates colorful, whimsical hats, jackets and shawls from forgotten-then-found textiles. “It’s almost laughable how many dog-chewed quilts have happily made their way to her to become one-of-a-kind quit jackets.” Giving discarded materials a new purpose is central to her work and her commitment to sustainability.

A longtime member of Tennessee Craft’s Midstate Chapter, Twyla teaches workshops, mentors’ makers in the Emerging Maker Tent and is captain of the new Midstate Chapter tent at the 2026 Fall Fair. She loves introducing fellow makers to the friendships and opportunities that come with Tennessee Craft membership.

Find her work at the Frist Art Museum gift shop, Arrowmont Galleries, SHIMAI Gallery of Contemporary Craft, Appalachian Center for Craft, Arts Center of Cannon County, Daffodil Designs and River Gallery in Chattanooga. She’ll have a trunk show at River Gallery on Halloween afternoon!

Another wonderful stained glass class at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville! 🥽⛪️ This class is one of the highlights of my year every time! I genuinely love teaching and the people that come to learn are always so open and willing. It feels like utter magic when they create something beautiful to take home and feel proud of! ✨ Thank you @tntechcraftcenter @ashlusietto for having me as an instructor 💖

It's officially fall at the ACC and I am sooo excited. My first time experiencing the full four seasons (Florida has two- summer, and slightly more bearable summer). I don't want to wax poetic, but I love my new home so much. The last couple of months have been fun, rejuvenating and productive. I have been working on several projects *at once* instead of finishing *any of them* because I can do that, I have space now.
I curated and installed an exhibit of over 50 works in two days!!
I am working out alot and going outside alot and eating alot. And having many fun sidegigs and adventures. I love my silly little fairytale life.
It turns out, running away into the woods really was the answer (I strongly recommend).

"The Lovers". Probably the 1st full-color work I've done in years. Also the first time I've been motivated to depict animals as my main subject! Every now and again, it's good to get outside my usual technique to keep my mixed-medium skills sharp. Mostly #copicmarker and #prismacolor .
