SHOW UP FOR PEOPLE. ❤️

These kiddos 🥰 Six cousins who came together this weekend to say goodbye to someone they loved.

They laughed, they cried, shared memories and comforted one another.

I’ve experienced a lot of loss in my life, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned: it’s that you never forget the people who show up for you.

When my mom passed away, I remember those who were there. But I also remember those who weren’t. And all these years later, those memories have stayed with me.

This weekend, as we said goodbye to Don, I was reminded once again how much showing up matters.

To everyone who attended the services, traveled, rearranged schedules, brought food, called, texted, or checked in… THANK YOU. ❤️

Some of you really surprised us by being there, and it meant more than you’ll ever know.

We’re equally grateful for those who couldn’t attend but reached out to let us know we were in their thoughts.

Showing up doesn’t always mean being physically present. Sometimes it’s simply making the effort to let someone know they matter.

So please, SHOW UP FOR PEOPLE.

Not just when it’s easy or convenient. Show up when life is hard, when people are hurting, and when you don’t know what to say.

Sometimes it’s a hug, a phone call, a text, or simply sitting beside someone in silence.

You don’t need the perfect words. You just need to care enough to make the effort.

People may not remember what you said, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel. And they’ll never forget who was there.

Looking at these six kids, I hope they carry this lesson throughout their lives.

Be the person who shows up. Be the person someone can count on when life gets hard.

Because relationships aren’t just about celebrating the good times. They’re about standing beside one another through the difficult ones, too.

To everyone who showed up for our family, in person or from afar, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I sincerely hope that when life gets hard for you, you’re surrounded by the same love and support you showed our family. ❤️

Our last stop in Italy was Venice 🇮🇹 What an absolutely fascinating city!

It’s one of those places you almost have to see to believe. A city built on water more than 1,500 years ago, with centuries-old buildings, winding canals, beautiful bridges, and so much history. The fact that Venice even exists, let alone HOW they built it so long ago, is mind-blowing!

We spent our days wandering the narrow streets, getting lost (more than once 😂), taking in the sights, and eating our way through the city!

We took an amazing food tour and discovered the bacari (traditional Venetian wine bars), where locals gather for wine and cicchetti (small Venetian bites). We even visited one with roots dating back to the 1400s! 🤯 Imagine sitting somewhere people have been gathering for food, wine, and conversation for centuries! Of course, we enjoyed plenty of gelato and experienced the iconic gondola ride through the canals. 🛶

I don’t think I truly understood what it meant to LIVE life until Randy started showing me. ❤️ And after losing my mom when she was just a couple of years older than I am now, I realized how precious life is and how quickly it can change.

But creating the life we dreamed of didn’t happen overnight. It’s taken years of hard work, sacrifices, dedication, teamwork, and determination to get here. And that makes moments like these even more meaningful.

Because life is meant to be LIVED. To make memories, take trips, experience new things, and embrace every opportunity to enjoy this beautiful life God has given us.

At the end of the day, it’s not the things we accumulate that matter. It’s the memories we make and the people we make them with. ❤️

We’ve worked hard to create a life we don’t need a vacation from, and I’m so grateful we get to experience it together.

A special thank you to our sweet friend @fivestartravel.witherin at Five Star Travel for bringing my dream to life!

Arrivederci, Italia! 🇮🇹 You’ve been everything we hoped for and more.

Heading home with full hearts, full suitcases, and probably a few extra pounds from all the pasta, wine, and gelato! 😂🍝🍷

How is it even possible that my baby boy is EIGHTEEN today?!

18 years ago, Brody came into this world and changed absolutely everything about mine. I had no idea then just how much this little boy would teach me about life, love, faith, strength, joy, and what really matters.

He has a way of making people feel seen. He loves BIG, makes friends everywhere he goes, and has a personality that is completely his own. He has taught me that there is so much beauty in being exactly who God created you to be.

And this past year especially, I’ve watched him grow up right in front of me. He got his first job, went away without any support for the first time, has continued becoming more independent, and is dreaming about what comes next for his life.

Brody, being your mom is one of the greatest privileges of my entire life. I hope you always know how deeply you are loved, how incredibly proud we are of you, and how much better this world is because you are in it.

There are SO many adventures still ahead of you, and I cannot wait to have a front-row seat for every single one of them.

Happy 18th Birthday, bud. You are so loved!
🎂🎉🥳❤️

Tonight we had Brody’s new worker, Alex, and some of his college housemates/teammates over for dinner. ❤️ It was such a great night getting to know all of them.

Finding the right worker for Brody is something we’ve never taken lightly. We’ve never gone through an agency — not because there aren’t wonderful people out there, but because for us, having someone come through a person we know and trust has always been really important.

Because we aren’t just trusting someone to spend time with Brody. We’re trusting them with our son. To take him places, help him become more independent, guide him, influence him and, most importantly, make sure he’s in good hands when he’s not with us.

We’ve been incredibly blessed with some amazing workers over the years, and Alex is right up there with them. He and Brody clicked from day one. ❤️

And the bonus? Alex came with a whole crew. 🥹 His teammates have welcomed Brody like he’s just one of the guys. They include him, joke with him, encourage him and accept him for who he is.

As a mom, you always hope and pray that your kids will be surrounded by good people. But when you have a child with different needs, you pray for that just a little bit harder. Especially as they get older and become more independent.

Tonight, sitting around our table with this group of young men, I just kept thinking…

This is what we’ve prayed for. ❤️

Brody didn’t just gain a great worker. He gained a friend, a mentor and a whole new group of guys in his corner.

Heading to bed with grateful heart tonight ❤️

We do a little work all summer, but today is the first official day of the 2026-27 school year. Senior year for Brody, 6th grade for Bailey. Time can slow down any day now ☹️ My little miracle babies! ❤️

It’s hard to put last night into words ❤️

I love the way my kids are getting to experience their faith—the music, the community, the freedom to worship, and a relationship with Jesus that feels so alive and personal.

17,000 people gathered together, singing, praising and worshiping Jesus. 🙌🏻 There was something so powerful about looking around and seeing thousands of people—young and old—with their hands raised, singing the same words together.

As a mom, watching my kids standing there singing and worshiping Jesus among 17,000 people was one of those moments I just wanted to freeze in time.

Their first concert. ❤️
And one I know they’ll never forget.We

Idk how we got here so fast! 18 years of cardiology appointments with this guy. When we walk in, they all swoon over him and his genuine smile and great attitude on life. ❤️
I’m biased, I know. But I just can’t stand the cuteness! We had to reenact a photo of him taken here before he was even one year old. I look at him on this table and wonder where that little baby has gone. Same happy boy, all smiles all the time (mostly! 🤣) no matter how old he gets, but it sure does feel like yesterday that he was laying on this table in a diaper 😭

Another milestone in the books. 🥹💙💛

Brody has been working at Packy’s for almost 2 months now, two nights a week, and he absolutely LOVES it. Some nights he’s busting his butt in the kitchen, other nights he’s cleaning tables. And we are so proud of him.

For us, milestones like this hit a little differently.

Most parents expect their child will grow up, turn 16, get their first job, earn a paycheck and start gaining independence. Just as most parents expect their baby will eventually just learn to crawl and walk and speak, and even climb the stairs, naturally. Like second nature.

But for us, it didn’t happen that way. For us, we learned very early not to take any of those things for granted.

For us, we wondered if people will see his abilities before his disability. For us, we worry that expectations will be lowered before Brody ever gets the chance to show what he’s capable of. For us, we prayed that someone would be willing to give him the same opportunities they would give anyone else.

And then someone does. ❤️

I will forever be grateful to Amy for believing in Brody and offering him that opportunity. Not because she felt sorry for him. Not because she needed to “help” him. But because she saw someone who was capable of working, learning, contributing and being part of a team—and gave him the chance to prove it.

And he absolutely loves being part of the Packy’s family, and loves when someone he knows sees him working and is proud and excited to see him doing his thing.

Yes, it’s his first job. But to us, it’s so much more than that.

It’s independence.
It’s inclusion.
It’s belonging.
It’s another reminder of what can happen when someone is given a chance instead of having limits placed on them.

We are SO proud of you, Brody. Keep showing the world what you can do, bud! 💙💛

Randy’s off to Boston this morning, and tomorrow the ride begins! ❤️🚴🏻‍♂️🇺🇸

Over the next 5 days, he’ll ride 500 miles from Boston to the World Trade Center in NYC as part of the First Responder Ride for Resilience.

This ride is especially meaningful as we mark 25 years since 9/11. They’ll be riding in honor of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives that day, as well as the first responders who continue to live with the lasting effects of their service.

Please keep Randy (and the rest of the riders) in your prayers this week. Specific prayer requests for strength, endurance, safety and protection every mile of the way. 🙏🏻❤️

And if you’d like to support Randy’s fundraising goal, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps support first responders and their families.

So proud of our little actress! 🎭❤️

These kids auditioned and had just FOUR days to put this entire musical together! 👏🏻

Congratulations to Bailey and the entire cast for pulling off such an outstanding performance of How to Train Your Dragon! 🐉✨ All that hard work definitely paid off! 👏🏻

For those who may not be familiar, a prophetic word is when someone is led by the Holy Spirit to pray over another person and share what God wants them to hear. It’s meant to encourage, strengthen, and remind them of who they are in Christ.

I’ve experienced this twice myself, and both times I sobbed. The people praying over me spoke to things they couldn’t have known—as if they had somehow pulled the thoughts right out of my head. The feeling that came over me is almost impossible to put into words. I’ve never forgotten those moments.

So when someone sent me this video from camp on Monday evening…

As a mom, I don’t even know how to describe what it felt like to watch.

On Monday, we sent Brody to church camp for the very first time—five days away from home, three hours away, with no family and no support person. Before he left, my biggest prayers were simple: kindness, inclusion, understanding, acceptance, and that God would meet him there.

Then Monday evening, I received this.

To see people surrounding my son, praying over him, speaking life into him, and reminding him who he is in Christ… it brought me to tears.

When Brody was born, I never knew what his future would look like. I certainly didn’t know if experiences like this would ever be part of his story. Yet here he is, confidently stepping into new experiences and being embraced by a community of believers who see far more than a diagnosis.

As parents of children with disabilities, we often wonder if our kids will truly be seen, included, and valued for who they are.

Today, I was given a beautiful glimpse of exactly that.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Brody. Your prayers mean more than you’ll ever know. Please keep praying that God continues to work in his heart this week, that he builds meaningful friendships, and that he always knows how deeply he is loved—by God and by those around him.

This mama’s heart is overflowing with gratitude. ❤️

PS- to hear it best, turn the volume to max and do not place it to hear. Hold it a little far way
