POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When I heard Doris share her story during a gathering I attended this weekend, it did something to me.. Many adults have a broken child still crying within them, they’ve grown, but they still don’t understand why their parents, siblings, guardians or extended family treated them the way they did.

When a child is rejected by the same parents that once loved her, it has a way of damaging the confidence of that child.

I could see the tears she had cried by the look in her eyes, and I knew, this lady has gone through a lot; rejection, the stereotype that comes with her situation, the loneliness that came from being rejected by parents and siblings, not being able to get a job because she can’t stand for too long and many other things.

It had me being grateful all over again, because sometimes we think we have problems until we meet someone that has been through hell and high water and they still choose to believe in the faithfulness of God.

Doris needs our help at this time, let’s help her get a job so she can have a steady source of income.

This is her instagram handle @dori.samuel , please reach out to her and support her in whatever way that you can.

Thank you for sharing your story with me and the world Doris, I pray that God strengthens and continues to keep you in Jesus Name.

P.S. Parents, please, let’s do better. Don’t be the reason why your child or children will have life more difficult. If Doris had gotten love from home, I’m sure that everything would have turned out better for her. But God is the father and mother of those who have been rejected by their own, even the orphans and I’m sure that He will do what only he can do in your life.

If you’re like Doris, don’t look down on yourself, don’t relent, pursue the type of life you desire to have. Use this medium to get close to the One who is your anchor and your pillar, He never leaves. He loves us unconditionally. Use this moment to become stronger in and through and by Him.
Sending you virtual hugs 🫂.

Comparison is a thief, it doesn’t jump in your face with a gun, it steals from you silently.
It’s difficult to appreciate what you have when you’re constantly looking at what someone else has.
While I understand that sometimes, seeing something you’d like to have with someone else can stir up emotions and get you triggered. It shouldn’t trigger you to jealousy.
Instead it should be a pointer to the fact that if God did it for them, He will do it for you.
Envy, discontentment, doesn’t do anyone any good, it worsens it.
What you have is important, appreciate it, be thankful for it as you pray and aspire for more.
Joy is one of the virtues for receiving, not envy, not jealousy and not sadness.
What is that one blessing in your life that you’ve been overlooking because you’re comparing it to someone else’s?

Take your eyes and thoughts off their table, look at yours! And be grateful you even have a table to begin with!

I totally enjoyed speaking with Idy.
I got to see some of her works and they are very impressive.
And shoutout to her mom, I could see the joy on her face when she spoke and encouraged Idy to tell me more about what she did, and it was truly beautiful.
It’s a blessing to have parents that support your dreams, push you to great heights and are with you every step of the way.

Please do follow @teenomics_ and subscribe to her YouTube channel, you’ll be glad you did.

And Idy, I was very impressed with what you said about being present and just enjoying where you are instead of rushing to the next big thing.
Thank you for sharing your gratitude story with me and the world.
World, watch out for this one, she’s full of talent, vision and potential and to top it off, she loves Jesus… It’s a win win on all sides.

There’ll always be something to be grateful for, you’ll see it, if you look for it.

Gratitude has a way of shifting your focus off the negative to the positive.
It shows you what’s still remaining even when you think you’ve lost everything.

Amanda Cook, an international gospel singer, sang “may we never lose our wonder!”
And it struck me, that the reason why many are discontent or ungrateful, is because they’ve lost the wonder of having that thing they once jump with gratitude for.
They became too familiar with what they had that it didn’t look like it was anything.

I understand that there’s a place for dissatisfaction, for wanting more- because God didn’t create us to settle for less, when He’s the God of MORE!
But as we journey towards what we desire to have; life, work, love, relationships etc, let’s be grateful for what we yet have.

Because that’s the beauty of life, it keeps you anchored in what truly matters…God!

Before you sleep tonight, listen to out what you’re grateful for. It doesn’t have to be a long list, it’s not for public consumption.
It’s your letter back to God, and to Him, even the little acts of gratitude are a big deal❣️

As I sat in the midst of my friend & her friend, they both spoke about their families & I saw how important it is to have a good family.
One you can always run to when you’re in need of help.
A family that can have your back when the world turns its back on you.
Family that loves you, no matter what (not the one where you want to drive your family members crazy because of your immaturity & bad behavior).

The unit of society, is the family, & once the family structure is faulty, automatically, the society is faulty!
The foundation for every family is the man & the woman.
It takes 2 good, disciplined, accountable, kind, honest, god-fearing, committed individuals to make any family work.

We can’t blame our kids for behaving in ways that we directly or indirectly sponsored because we refused to work on ourselves or discipline & train them as they should be.

Do you have a family you can be vulnerable with, or are they full of vultures waiting to feast on you?
Not many people have good family members, many are scared of their family.
Some family members will be the death of themselves, because they want to drag that person to the lowest part that they are.

Some friends become family, even more loyal, more concerned, empathetic & more compassionate than blood.
Blood they say is thicker than water, if the family you come from is nothing to write home about, don’t let a bad family come out of you!

Correct the mistakes of your predecessors.
Don’t let your children be afraid of marriage because of the way you treat your spouse.
Don’t let your daughters, sons be too afraid that they can’t confide in you when they are being bullied or molested.

Build that trust, build that foundation, be the shield that covers your children no matter what!
I don’t know if you know this, but you are the first god your children will see before they see & know God; what will they see?

Will it endear them to God or send them running in the opposite direction?
Please, ruminate on that tonight.

Lisa, thank you very much for sharing your gratitude story with me & the world.
I’m glad that you’re fighting your way back to speaking up again.

Yours in Gratitude

One thing a person can never be too much of, is over-grateful.
Ever since I saw where God wasn’t happy with the Israelites complaining and murmuring after everything He did for them; in and out of Egypt. How he delivered them when they were at the Red Sea and had the Egyptians at their back chasing them, how he fed them, He didn’t allow their clothes and shoes get worn out or torn etc.
I decided that ingratitude was as a result of lack of sight, because if a man can think, he should be able to know where he was before, how God saved him and where he currently is.

So, yes, be grateful, that you can talk, be grateful…
That you can walk, be grateful!
That you can see, be grateful!
That you can think, enough to think about even complaining gan , be grateful!
That you have a phone, be grateful!
That you’re alive, can breathe for free, be grateful!

Too many things to be grateful for, look for one in your own life and give God the thanks He deserves.
What you don’t thank God for, you’ll eventually lose… Don’t take my word for it, do a little experiment and come and then maybe that will change your mind.

Thanks to the Orija’s, Jessica, Mrs Helen for sharing their gratitude story.
Speaking with you gave me more perspective on all the things I still have to be grateful for.

You’ve prayed…
You’ve waited, in fact, you’re starting to question your waiting.

“Am I sure I’m waiting or am I lazy?
God, is there something I’m doing wrong? Is there something you’re saying that I’m not hearing?”
These are some of the questions you ask yourself.

You look around, oh my goodness, you see people testifying of the very thing you’ve been praying for and about.

You switch off your phone, lay on the bed, facing the ceiling, a tear rolls down your eyes… “God when?”
Then another tear rolls down the other eye and suddenly, memories and pictures skirt through your mind and next thing, you’re sobbing…. Silently… because you don’t want anyone around asking what’s wrong, after all, you need to be strong for everyone…
But, who is strong for you?

You comfort everyone, but who comforts you?
You’re there when people need you, but who is there for you, especially on nights like this when all you can do and all you want to do is cry.

Dry your tears, all the waiting will be worth it.
It’s not about the waiting, it’s about how you wait!

The scripture that dropped in my heart as I typed this is in the book of Habakkuk 3:17-19 TPT;

“Even if my fig trees do not blossom and my vines grow no grapes, if my olive crop fails and my fields produce no harvest, and even if all my sheep die and I’m left with no cattle in my barn, I still have Yahweh, and I will rejoice in him. Yes, I will dance with joy no matter what, for I have a Savior-God!
Yahweh is the Lord of my strength; he makes my feet sure-footed as a deer bounding upon the high places.”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬-‭19‬

I hope these words comfort you and help you to hold on to God no matter what.
He’s your surest anchor, shield, shelter, defense and He’s good at surprising people when they least expect it…
He has something rolled up His sleeve for you; Trust Him.

And while you wait for the answer to your prayers, thank Him for what He has already done, count your blessings, name them one by one and it will actually surprise you what the Lord has done❣️

To not be grateful for life is the highest form of ingratitude.
Because, even in the midst of the things we complain that aren’t working, there’s still something that is working.

Your mind is working, that’s why you can complain and think about what you think you don’t have.
Your body is working, you hands, your legs, your teeth’s(if you’ve ever experienced consistent tooth ache, you’d be grateful anytime you eat something with ease).

What’s my point?
This is the point!
That your mind is functioning well enough to even comprehend what is being said and written, to ask a sensible question.
That’s part of life, isn’t it?

During my time of meditation (just me talking to God in my mind), I began to appreciate the blessedness of my mind, God has indeed been faithful and He has kept our minds intact, isn’t that worth thanking God for?

Kindly take your eyes off what you believe isn’t working and appreciate God for what is working & what you currently have. Don’t think about those prayer requests you have somewhere in your journal, don’t think about the other things that are staring you in the face as urgent problems, just focus on Him.

Because what you focus on, you amplify by meditation!
Let your God be bigger than your issues and those circumstances.

Will it always be easy?
I would be lying if I said it will always be easy on your own, but by the help of God’s Spirit, anything can be easy, just don’t shut Him out and don’t shut Him off…
He’s a person too, and He longs to comfort you in that situation that has been sent to shake Faith out of you.

Thank you Funmi for sharing your gratitude story with me and the world.

I was at the meetup of the Change Is Female Initiative and I had a chat with the founder and co-founder of the initiative.
Kindly go to @the_cif_collective to see who they are, what they stand for and how you can also be of support.

Ada is grateful for a political candidate and education.
Both are important.
Congratulations on the completion of your youth service Ada, and it was beautiful speaking with you ❣️

Many times we want to question God.
We prayed, we fasted, we gave that situation our best, but still yet, it didn’t work as we would have loved for it to work.
It’s painful, and if a person is not deeply rooted in their relationship with God as a Person and not just as a supplier, there’ll be offense.

I recall there was a time when I spoke to God and told Him to revive a particular relationship that was falling apart, but that relationship fell to shreds. At that time, I didn’t understand why God didn’t fix it, I already said I was sorry, I was already working on what needed to be worked on, or so I thought.
Years later, I see the wisdom of God in not answering my teary prayer. Or maybe He answered the prayer, just not in the way my short-term brain wanted Him to answer it.

We must learn to separate the hand of God from the Person of God. When you know Who God is and your relationship with Him is not need dependent but relationship inspired, led and dependent, you’ll find that nothing bugs you for too long. Because you know that He loves you too much to leave you hanging, He is too faithful to allow you see shame.
It’s a journey on the path of Trust!
Do you Trust Him enough even when you don’t see His hand and you’re not seeing a possible way out?
Can you stake your life on His character, Person and His Word?
Life will test all of us, your response in that time of heat and pressure is the answer.
So, hold on, ask God to help you lean on and trust Him more even when you don’t understand what’s happening or how that problem will be solved.
He is a faithful God, He’s faithful because faithfulness is Who He is.
You’ll be fine.

Health!
Truly, can we ever be grateful enough for the gift of sound health?
I recall a time when I couldn’t eat or drink water for months because of a tooth ache/gum issue.
I would sip water with a straw because even the slightest touch would cause me tremendous pain and I despaired of life.
I felt like that was truly the end, but I thank God, He came through for me when after trying everything medically possible, I took myself to Shiloh, Canaan land.
God is great, every time I am able to eat or drink, I thank God because I remember how it was before.

Thank you Motunrayo for sharing your gratitude story with me and the world, may God continue to keep and sustain our health; physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, financial in Jesus Name.
