Last week I had the pleasure of competing in and winning the @h20winterclassic 🛐 Definitely one of the most fun weekends/contests I’ve ever experienced. The surf/snow culture overlap sure is a special one and it is rad that guys like @toddproffit70 keep it recognized! Epic weekend competing @thepalmspringssurfclub & @mthighsnow for the @h20winterclassic 🏂x🏄🏼‍♂️ Thank you for bringing back such an awesome event for Southern California surfers & snowboarders! @toddproffit70 @teambkinc @vipedesai 🤙🏽✨❤️🍻Shoutouts to all the crew at PSSC & Mt.High for all your guys hardwork making the event such a great success. Can’t wait for next year, excited to watch this thing grow in numbers over the next few years. Congrats to my brother from another mother on the big W!🥳🏆 @happy_mad

————————————————————— Day-2 of of the @h20winterclassic was a doozy in the desert. 80 competitors rode 6 waves each (Three lefts and three rights) @thepalmspringssurfclub. Top scoring left n right count. After a full day in the beautiful desert sun, the scores were tallied and to find out who won. The placing from Saturdays snow event was added to the placing from the surf event. Lowest total wins. In the pool, our own @ian_crane reigned supreme, winning the Surf portion of Pro division, but his snow score kept him off the combined podium. @happy_mad took the Pro overall, with Surf Club local, @chancie_g right behind and @blottscm rounding the podium. In 40-49 Masters, @druku14 won surf and overall, with @chadwmartin77 runner up. In 50+”Classics” event organizer, @toddproffit70 took the overall, with @jsteris runner up. In the girls, @taylorstacy3 smashed the pool, nailing overal win with @ellie.g.martin runner-up. Our buddy @morganellis06 took out the overall Men 18-39, with very fast snow times and a gritty surf performance. Proud parents moment, for @kellybiolos and I, was @riverbiolos3 nailing the win in snow and 2nd in surf, to combine for 1st overall, in the U-18 division. For a kid who rarely competes, it was really sweet. Little buddy, @waylonm11 won the surf and took home 2nd overall. @reefxapplebaum wedged his way into 3rd overall. These three have been snowboarding and surfing together, for so long and this was the third podium they all shared together. ——————————————————— I’m also proud to say that @lostsurfboards and @libtechnologies teamed up to blanket the overall winners and runner ups of every division, with brand new boards. Giving the winner choice of a #LightSpeed surfboard or @mervinmfg snowboard with the runner up getting the other. Theres a lot of better surfers and plenty of better snowboarders, in California. But this event, going back almost 30 years, celebrates and rewards those whose passion runs deep in both aspects of riding #H20. Seeing so many friends and familiar faces, it’s clear we are niche crew who chase snow storms and swell with equal abandon.

Huge congrats to all of our competitors who took the podium yesterday for the snowboard side at the @h20winterclassic! 🏆👏 And a big shout out to everyone who came out to shred, support, and be part of the action. The community in the snowboarding and surfing industry is truly special ❤️ But we’re just getting started… this was leg #1. The finals are heading to the water today at @thepalmspringssurfclub where the competition continues on leg #2 the surfing action. Who will be crowned H2O Champion and rise above the rest of this stacked field of competitors and be the Top Athlete of Snow & Surf? The @h20winterclassic was started by @vipedesai and @teambkinc back in the 90’s!! It became a prestigious event that Surfers and Snowboarders were excited to compete in. Pretty awesome to see magazines, premieres, and events coming back! We look forward to this! Do you have what it takes to rip down the mountain and shred up the sea? Then this event is for you. The best surfers and snowboarders will compete to find out who is the best surfer / snowboarder in this winter classic. •The next generation professional athlete is multi talented in many sport disciplines versus the single sport focus of today’s top professional athletes. •This event is a true classic allowing athletes to exhibit their skills and express themselves in each sport creating an exciting and entertaining show for all. Contest Format: •Snow Format: 3 runs down a banked slalom course with the top two runs combined for overall placing. •Surf Format: 3 rights and 3 lefts with best wave on right and left added for overall placing.  •Each athlete takes his or her placing from the snow and surf and adds them together. The lowest overall score is crowned the champion. •March 7th, at Mountain High Resort / Snowboarding Day •March 8th, at Palm Springs Surf Club / Surfing Day Divisions: Youth 17 and under Men’s 18-39 Master 40 and over Industry Pro   Women  Cost: $250 Includes a one day lift ticket to Mountain High on 3/7/26 and a surfing pass to Palm Springs Surf Club on 3/8/24 to compete in the H2O Winter Classic. Spots are limited so sign up today.
