The Good Kids Bad Kids 👦🏻 Episode #2 Thieving Theodore ⛵️ The second installment in The Good Kids Bad Kids series is Thieving Theodore. This is another great story with an important message from author Thomas Gowan @tolfintry. It encourages young impressionable readers to explore feelings of seeking approval for their actions and possessions, and to consider doing what makes them happy rather than feeling the need to impress or please others, especially classmates. 🏫 Theo is desperate to impress during show and tell at school, and is left feeling a little unsure if he did enough to gain his classmates approval. 🧸 His friend Ray has some ideas of his own about how Theo can secure classroom fame, however his methods aren’t above board. Will Theo cave in to peer pressure from Ray? And if he does, will he learn a valuable lesson? 🚌 Have a read and see what happens to Theo! Beautifully illustrated again and the perfect second episode to the series! Highly recommended by us! Kids Questions: 🚀 Have you ever done something to impress a friend? 🎨 What would you say to a friend if they didn’t have as many toys as you? 🛼 Is it important to you that people like you? Why? 🎾 Name 3 things you like about yourself? #kidsbooks #childrensbookillustrator #childrensbooks #fiction #childrens #inspiretheirearlyyears #illustration

Scoopy Says Hello! 👋🏼 Scoopy Says Hello! written by Thomas Gowan @tolfintry is a wonderful book written in a comic style format, which explores the idea of other people’s experiences and moods affecting our own. 🍨 Scoopy is an adorable little character who is in fact a scoop of ice cream! Living in a land where all the characters are foods, animals or plants 🪴 🍨 Scoopy loves to make everyone happy, which usually works out well for him and those he encounters. But then he experiences a dilemma. Someone doesn’t seem to be interested in a ‘hello’! 🍨 This is quite baffling for poor Scoopy who sets about trying to work out why in a series of epic attempts to uncover the mystery. 🍨 In his search for answers, Scoopy makes an unexpected discovery, one which teaches him a valuable lesson, and will teach young readers the same! 🍨 We thoroughly enjoyed Scoopy Says Hello 👋🏼 and would recommend to all little readers. The illustrations are beautifully detailed and colourful to engage little imaginations! Kids Questions: 🪴 Has there been a time when someone hasn’t responded to you and how did it make you feel? 🪴 Can you remember a time you didn’t feel like talking and what helped you to feel better? #childrensbooks #childrensbookillustration # 🪴 What can we do if our friend is having a difficult time? #childhood #booksforchildren #instabook #childrensmentalhealth

The Good Bad Kids: Episode #1 Fast Food Fred By Thomas Gowan Fred secretly trades his boring lunches for exciting ones but soon discovers the downside of such a dietary switch-a-roo. An all you can eat buffet of rhymes, adventure and beautifully detailed images, with a not-so-subtle nod to the importance of healthy eating. This book was great for my 7 year old son. It's a longer picture book because it has more pages than typical picture books but it doesn’t have a ton of words on each page. This made my son feel like he was flying through a chapter book. The easy to read rhyming is a great bonus that helps the story flow nicely. The story begins with Fred and he is amazing at baseball. He can run really fast and catch everything. At school, Fred sees other kids eating candy, chips and drinking pop for lunch. Fred only gets to eat healthy food and feels left out. That night, Fred protests at dinner because he wants to eat junk food. At school he gets a coupon for a free portion of poutine at the Burger Shack. While at the restaurant, Fred meets a boy who agrees to trade his lunch with him everyday for a week. The first time Fred eats fried chicken. That night at the game, Fred noticed he was sweating more than normal, had a pain in his side and couldn’t run as fast as he normally does. Read to find out the rest of the story. The story is very fun and engaging, the illustrations are really well done, and there is a very good lesson about how junk food and healthy foods affect our bodies.  #supportindieauthors #childrensbooks #kidsbooks #bookstagram #picturebooks #readingisfun #childrensbooksofinstagram #childrensbooksdaily #childrensbooksworthreading #booksforkids #kidsbookswelove #kidsbookshelf #raisingreaders #bedtimestory #bedtimestories #bedtimereading #teachersofinstagram #readingroom #authorsofinstagram #readtoyourkids #kidlit #healthyfood #childrensbookstagram #booksforchildren #kidsreading #junkfood #healthy #classroombooks
