Friends, I had a special experience last week chasing Steelhead at Lower Dean Lodge in B.C. Canada. Truly an amazing place. If you ever get the chance to go, DO NOT MISS IT‼️ Special thanks to the lodge staff and guides, @sageflyfish @rioproducts @redingtongear @flyfishfood and the spey guru @tom.larimer 🙌. Fish were caught, incredible meals were served, scenery was admired, rapids were tamed, heli-rides were enjoyed, and I was able to meet great people who share a passion for angling, including the talented musician Huey Lewis. The heart of rock and roll is still beating, and the heart of fly fishing is pure and pumping 💪💥

Here at the shop we’re stoked to see the new @rioproducts recycled plastic cassettes that replace the cardboard ones. Easily reusable and no more imploding when spooling up new lines. Thanks @rioproducts 👏 Another bass line going out the door to a happy angler!

Bass season rolls right along. You’re armed with a fistful of minnow patterns. Effortlessly throw a good cast to the far fast side of the seam. Second strip into the drift you come tight sooner and sharper than expected. After a good fight you snap a pic, toss em back, and search for another scrap to join. These bass fight hard and dirty with the current to their benefit. The 8wt and 12lb leader helps to subdue this angry critter who wanted to take your lunch money. The @sageflyfish Arrow 890-4 with a @rioproducts Outbound Short intermediate has been a very versatile pairing. I’ve only a few days left in June and some better availability in July. Let’s get you out!

@bo.brand was able to escape the shop grind last week to meet up with other industry folks and the great crew at Farbank @sageflyfish @rioproducts @redingtongear . While the weather wasn’t ideal, the mighty Deschutes scenery and spicy redsides were a welcome treat and a few hours of lake fishing @justesen_ranch_lakes topped off the retreat with some fun stillwater action. #sageflyrods #silverbowflyshop
