11/23/23 Thanksgiving Day
.
The path provides Instagram Friends.
.
Today I joined Delvania on a tour of Canyon De Chelly on the Navajo Reservation. Delvania grew up with her father, brothers and sisters in this canyon. Some years after receiving her degree in Electrical Engineering in Phoenix Az. she returned home choosing a career closer to her heart, identity and people. I found her by asking her company for a guide who could help me as a searcher/learner, to gain a more holistic understanding of the architecture and human of occupation of Canyon De Chelly. This place is well known archeologically for its Anasazi cliff dwellings. What most non Navajo/Hopi/and other contemporary native people don’t understand is that this is an ongoing continuum of culture. Navajo people actually live in this canyon. This physical place is who they are. The living oral histories and rituals of Navajo clans replenish and rejuvenate their identity with stories that have been pasted down to them throughout history and will continue to do so into the future. Connecting them to this very special place.
.
Today, Thanksgiving Day 2023 I witnessed and participated in this reality. Thank you Delvania for being my guide into the world of your people and this extraordinary place.

Takeover by @tom____adam

That’s me saying tatty bye with my last post on this takeover ‘Mono No Aware, Dumyat’

It’s been an interesting exercise, and loved sharing all my faves with you. I think I’ve uploaded more in the last 5 days than I have in the time since I downloaded Instagram. It’s a love/hate thing with Instagram eh. I can now see the power of the infamous blue tick, and how fecked the algorithm is. But hey, it’s what we’ve got.

Thank you again to @mark__connolly for having me.
