Cut, styled & shot by @tommconnell live on stage at the WWHT in Valencia.

Tom’s 2026 WWHT show concept was to create the whole show live in front of the audience. Moving through 5 different photography set ups to capture each look, Tom communicated to the audience not just hair technique but the importance of taking risks in the pursuit of creative growth. We saw the references & inspiration behind each look as Tom cut each model live, before setting up unique photography set ups and lighting to create collection images in real time, right in front of the audience.

So inspiring and a deeper look into Tom’s creative process.

24 years of hairdressing ✂️🤎

I still remember being told by my teachers in school that hairdressing was a job that paid very badly and didn’t involve much skill. How wrong they were.

24 years later, this career has given me more than I could ever have imagined. It’s taken me to countries I never dreamed I’d visit, introduced me to the most incredible people, given me friendships I’ll have for life, and allowed me to travel the world doing something I genuinely love.

It’s given me opportunities to learn, create, teach, work alongside people who inspire me, and be part of something so much bigger than just doing hair.

It’s also allowed me to build my own business and create a space where other talented, independent hairdressers can work, grow and build their own careers too. And how lucky am I that I get to make a living from something I love so much?

Hairdressing is so much more than people give it credit for. It takes skill, creativity, dedication, passion and a whole lot of hard work. It’s an industry that has given me a life I’m incredibly proud of.

If I could go back and tell that girl in school one thing, it would be to trust herself, follow what she loves and never let someone else’s opinion define what’s possible.

24 years in, and I still feel like there’s so much more to learn, so many more people to meet and so many more opportunities ahead.

Forever grateful I chose this path. And even more grateful for everyone who has been part of it along the way. 🤎✂️

Here’s to the next chapter. ✨

The main purpose of this journey was to experience things firsthand, meet people face to face, have meaningful conversations, and build genuine connections beyond the screen.

I was reminded that the most unexpected encounters often bring the greatest lessons and opportunities.

I believe that what truly matters often goes against the direction the world is moving in.

And this is just the beginning.

Moving forward, I want to make a positive impact not only on myself, but also on the people around me and everyone I connect with.

Where to begin…
This year has been incredible. The journey I have embarked upon with Talent Greenhouse is hard to put into words. When starting this I didn’t quite know what to expect, but opening my heart and embracing it all, I found my people. TGH brought 5 strangers together and made an incredible team. We worked together so well, none of us felt we were in a competition, more like we were just catching up with friends and helping each other out. With amazing comfort and guidance from all of the mentors throughout, I’m so grateful to @davinespro and the #talentgreenhouse team for creating this program and opening so many doors of opportunity for us. You saw our work and gave us a chance and I cannot wait to see what is next.
To everyone who supported me through this journey through social media, salon, family and community. All of you who understood my performance and spoke with me, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. To be able to showcase to you all was such an honour and I hope our paths cross again🫶🏼
I can’t recommend this more! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, all you can be is you and you have the potential to chase your dreams. We are dreamers✨
