My next Morning Mindfulness Walk is Saturday 10th October walking from Pearl Beach to Patonga, one way with car shuffle. This 4.5 km walk is an iconic trail here on the Coast with many spectacular views. Grade is medium fitness as there are some good 'raise your heart rate' ups and downs!! Enjoy rest stops along the way to take it all in, connect with others or just enjoy the quietness and beauty of the trail. You are welcome to bring a friend, just DM your interest. We will organise car shuffle when I know numbers. If warm enough we can end the walk with a dip in the ocean.

Such a fun morning spent with @tomo.co39 learning the art of making miso. This is my second time learning from Tomoko, and I highly recommend you attending one of her workshops, you don't just learn how to make miso, but also the history, the benefits and the many ways of how to use it. The best part is you get to take home many delicious recipes and you also get to try them with traditional Japanese green tea.

Sunday, we made history. RITUALS: The Sacred. The Now. The In-Between. filled @machinehall for one day, and for the first time in this country, we told our own stories, on our own terms, sharing space with the oldest living culture on Earth. Fifteen years of Heartdancers led to this room. Fifteen years of refusing to be filed under only “multicultural festival” or squeezed to the margins of the stage. Sunday, we opened the doors for free, and this country’s arts and culture stood exactly where they belong. To our artists and panelists, you are some of the finest this country has. To our team, AV crew, volunteers and stallholders, you built this with your hands and your hearts. And to everyone who came and felt, thank you for showing us that when you build with truth, people show up. Thank you to @cityofsydney , @soundnsw and @creatensw for believing in this before it existed. Thank you to @sydneyfringe Yalgali program for holding the room. 📸 @raulolm.photo gracias 🔥 We did this with more love than resources, and it still stood taller than either. With gratitude and fire in our hearts. 🔥 #RITUALS #Heartdancers #SydneyFringe #MachineHall #FirstNations CommunityArts

Tomoko Oka is a Japanese calligraphy artist based on Gadigal Land/Sydney and Darkingjung Country/Central Coast and holds over 21 years of experience in her craft.
