Tom Peiffer’s skiing has undoubtedly been shaped by the coastal mountains in his backyard surrounding Whistler, BC. Tom has undeniably proven his tenacity in the competition world. Consistently ranked among the best North American athletes, he spent four seasons on the Freeride World Tour, where his aggressive and fall-line skiing stood out. Tom is also no stranger to chasing backcountry objectives at home or remote lines in the corners of the world, from the Himalayas to Argentina. No matter the terrain, Tom will find his way up…and down.

In his free time, he stays busy pursuing a career in paramedicine and staying outdoors, preferably surfing waves.

Tom was part of the development team for the Canvas skis from the very beginning. He tested all the prototypes and worked closely with the Blizzard engineers, playing a big role in the creation of the current Canvas collection.

3 weeks trip in Chile is taking an end !! Coming back home with good memories, some solid ski days, sunsets and more 🇨🇱

Summer Ski Bender Part 3 🖤

Round two of the fishing vacation was Bamfield. I’ve been coming here since I was 4, when my dad first started bringing me. It’s been a family tradition ever since.

My dad and I always loved looking at the Grady Whites when I was growing up. It was our favourite boat, and I remember telling him that one day I’d own a Grady White, we’d come back to Bamfield together and I’d be the one captaining the boat. Pretty cool to actually be doing that now.

We stayed @mckaybaylodge again and as usual the hospitality was awesome. Had @tompeiffer and @life_of_payne with me for the first half, then my parents came out for the second. Fishing was great with salmon to 27lbs, halibut to 30lbs and lingcod to 24lbs. We get most of our fish for the year on this trip and this year definitely didn’t disappoint.

The best part for me was having my dad back out there. This was only his second time back to Bamfield since his accident. It’s been really cool seeing his progress and how going out for a day of fishing is becoming pretty routine for him again.

Then on the last morning, in the last hour of the trip, it was just me and him out there like the good old days. He ended up putting a 27lb chinook in the boat, his biggest fish in a long time and the biggest chinook brought back to the lodge in a couple months.

Not many people with a traumatic brain injury can say they caught a 27lb chinook. Pretty damn proud of him. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish the trip.
