Bravo to my wonderful pal Tom Perault for receiving the 2026 Cleve Jones Leadership Award from the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Thank you for the ground breaking and caring work you have selflessly accomplished over the years. Tom’s most significant work is probably his two years participation in the first human clinical trial for a cure for HIV which was a major scientific breakthrough. I think about how lucky I am to have spent almost my entire life in the San Francisco Bay Area, where every year we get to celebrate the incredible diversity of our LGBTQIA+ community—not only at Pride in San Francisco, but across the Bay in Oakland, too. Oakland Pride feels a little less corporate, a little more homegrown, and there’s something really special about that.

I’m also incredibly grateful to have such a big, diverse group of gay friends from all walks of life. I know not everyone gets to have that kind of community around them, and I don’t take it for granted. Every day, I learn something from them about how to move through the world with grace, resilience, joy—and, of course, a little glitter—even when the world isn’t always eager to welcome us into every space. 🌈🦄🥳💕🙏 #gays #gaysofinstagram #gaypride

Blue Roses Project is thrilled to announce the addition of Tom Perrault (@tomperrault) to our esteemed Board of Directors!

Tom is currently a consultant living in New Orleans. He was formerly the Chief People Officer for MemSQL where he worked with executives to ensure that the company was a destination employer. Prior to MemSQL, Tom was the Chief People Officer at Rally Health, a consumer healthcare platform acquired by UnitedHealth Group. Previous to that, he was Chief People Officer for Meebo, a Mountain View-based social networking company bought by Google. He has also served as the VP, Global Human Resources for Glu Mobile, a mobile gaming company, as well as VP of Human Resources for ZipRealty. Tom served as Chair, Board of Directors of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation for three years, helping San Francisco to be on track to become the first city to end HIV transmission.

Tom earned his B.A. in history and political science from Rice University and a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law.
