One of the only disappointments from my recent birthday celebration was that this video was never shown with the carefully chosen “Being Boring” by the Pet Shop Boys.

Not only a moving elegy to the AIDS crisis then in full bloom but also a clarion call to lead a fully engaged and meaningful life which I strive to do every. single. day.

Thanks, too, to our amazing architect @krisklam whose vision transformed this project and to @pthepaul, @lsteffan, and @torimellott for the photography and styling. And to @adewitt for his assistance with publication.

Bravo to my wonderful pal Tom Perault for receiving the 2026 Cleve Jones Leadership Award from the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Thank you for the ground breaking and caring work you have selflessly accomplished over the years. Tom’s most significant work is probably his two years participation in the first human clinical trial for a cure for HIV which was a major scientific breakthrough. With less than two months until we vote (and we are all voting, correct?), here’s my updated spreadsheet on where you might consider donating to help begin the restoration of sanity to our country. And I have a challenge! If you’re a gambler, pay attention to the highlighted races. There is some new intel that shows these very “reach” races could be won with enough $$$ backing them. Last week we said goodbye to our 19 yr old Mister Seneca. Seneca was more than just a dog for Sal. He was his shadow, his alter ego, his best friend. Wherever Sal was, Seneca was sure to be, as well. They needed each other in the best way. We deeply miss our sweet boy and feel free to reach out to Sal directly as I know he would love to hear from you. ❤️ by @tomperrault

Blue Roses Project is thrilled to announce the addition of Tom Perrault (@tomperrault) to our esteemed Board of Directors!

Tom is currently a consultant living in New Orleans. He was formerly the Chief People Officer for MemSQL where he worked with executives to ensure that the company was a destination employer. Prior to MemSQL, Tom was the Chief People Officer at Rally Health, a consumer healthcare platform acquired by UnitedHealth Group. Previous to that, he was Chief People Officer for Meebo, a Mountain View-based social networking company bought by Google. He has also served as the VP, Global Human Resources for Glu Mobile, a mobile gaming company, as well as VP of Human Resources for ZipRealty. Tom served as Chair, Board of Directors of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation for three years, helping San Francisco to be on track to become the first city to end HIV transmission.
