To be clear, these are not official minima. They are simply our proposal for how the current system could be improved.

We don’t want to just complain about the existing system without offering a potential solution. We wanted to demonstrate how relatively straightforward it can be to create a system that is fair, transparent, easy to understand, and continuously evolving based on actual performances.

We’ve also shown how easily the data, calculations, and reasoning behind these minima could be made publicly available, allowing athletes and coaches to understand exactly how qualification standards are determined.

This is why we struggle to understand why the federation would need several years to implement a system built around these principles.

Our goal isn’t simply to make qualification easier. It’s to create a system that rewards performance fairly, raises the standard of athletes representing Belgium internationally, and improves our chances of scoring more team points at international championships.

We believe these objectives should be in everyone’s best interest, and we hope our proposal demonstrates that meaningful improvements don’t necessarily require years of development.

Do you like this system?
