Blood, sweat and a lot of tears went into this prep and this meet. To finish it off the way I did was just the cherry on top.

A huge thank you to my coaches @kedric.reformance and @cedrickhayen for adapting so well to who I am, both as an athlete and as a person, and for helping me navigate everything that comes with that.

To everyone in South Africa who made this trip truly unforgettable, thank you.

And to all my friends and family back home, especially @alinetorfs. I know I haven’t always been the easiest person to deal with throughout this prep, but your support means more than you probably realise. You are a huge part of the person I am today.

My body felt amazing on the day. I genuinely lived like an athlete in the weeks leading up to this competition, and I believe that made all the difference.

I’ll cherish this moment forever.

Now we keep rolling.

The goal stays the same: Become the best 93 Belgium has ever seen.

National Champion…

Ever since I was a kid, I felt like I was always the one coming up just short
Close, but never quite there.

I’ve replayed this moment in my head for so long… and now, it finally became real.

Ill be honest, I’ve spent a long time chasing respect in this sport, trying to prove that I belong here.
And for the first time, I didn’t have to chase it. I could feel it.

We stood on the podium one year.
We tasted defeat the next.
And now we won the whole damn thing.

To everyone in my corner, and everyone who was shouting, cheering, believing.
I felt you on that last pull.

I truly hope this performance and this story can inspire someone out there who feels like they’re always just short.

Keep at it at all times and your moment will present itself.
