As April continues we want to highlight PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) Awareness Month. This condition affects around 1 out of every 20 women and is a cycler disorder with symptoms that can flare up anytime between ovulation and menstruation. If you have been diagnosed with this disorder you are not suffering alone, sending love from fellow PMDD warriors.

The important conversation of menstrual equity is lacking representation from a very important group in our community. Menstruation can be a burden on black women. Historically, black women haven’t had the privilege some women hold of celebrating our bodies. The shame we often carry from how we are perceived and treated has played a role in how we’ve projected those stigmas with the things that oftentimes come with our body, such as our periods.
