I couldnt think of a better place to spend @culturenight than at @bullhorris' Miss Powder Vacuum in @dhg_dublin

I got to hang out with fellow judge and queer royalty @toniewalsh for the first time 😱, hear @fannysplitmcgee belting out a number and be the elder, judging. Heaven.

I was litch that stitch of 'this is what gen z think I am versus what they actually see - the Jennifer Coolidge edition.'

A ball.

All the properly lit pics @dylangomery

Reflecting on our live Slideshow party on Friday night, it was a great night and a chance to catch up with people I hadn’t seen in years.

This image is part of the show, photographed backstage at Powderbubble in the Red Box, Dublin on 26 July 1997. The woman in the picture is Tara O’Toole, I hadn’t known her name before until by coincidence I was contacted by her husband Lar over the weekend asking if any pictures of them at Powderbubble existed.

My co host @anthonyremedy loves this shot as a reflection of the fashion of the time influencing culture and movies, Tara’s latex suit preceding Trinity’s look in the Matrix.

For me this picture encapsulates the 1990s in Ireland, as we emerged from a repressive past and attempted to throw off the shackles of an old Ireland. Tara’s innocent look amid the backstage chaos, yet her latex suit making a bold statement.

What heartens me most about this project is how it continues to connect people some 29 years later, like a family album for an entire community.
